When did your OH first feel baby move?

Inspired by another post about when you could first feel baby move.

Just wondering when your husband/partner could first feel baby moving. I'm at 22 weeks and can feel baby in stereo (inside and out) but baby goes very shy when DP's hands go on my belly. Each day is getting stronger and more frequent, so surely it's just a matter of baby getting some proper big kicks and turns going?

We think DH first felt DD at about 25 weeks, but she was a tiddly little thing and I was pretty porky so I'm not sure if that's typical Smile

I couldn't say. OH didn't show much interest. I think he thought it felt rather creepy to put his hand on my pregnant tummy. He loves DD to bits, but as far as being pregnant was concerned it was me who was pregnant not him so he was rather detached.

Exactly the same as me. Baby getting much stronger but seems thats every time DH touches bump she goes all still and quiet! I've even seen her move a couple of times (after a bag of sweets) but poor DH seems to miss it every time!

At about 20 weeks. DS was all elbows and sharp bits and did not stop moving which hurt sometimes. DH came home from work one day and called out hello and saw baby give massive kick, did it again and another big kick. They were DS first visable kicks after lots of wriggles and squirms. DH was really chuffed and I was very lucky as he felt really bonded with DS while I was pregnant.

34 weeks, and that was only because he got a kick when giving me a cuddle. :o

He's a bit like Bunbaker's DH when it comes to pregnancy :)

Until they're out they are just an abstract concept.

Dh also not keen on the baby feeling. Think it was because with both pg, my tum regularly looked like something out of alien, and both did somersaults all the time.

Put him off. Plus he didn't like to press my tum in case he hurt the baby, so he could only feel in the last trimester.

He took loads of funny shaped tum pics though, and looking at them I can understand why he didn't want to touch bump. He's the same with this pg.

my DH felt babe on his 30th birthday, at 22 weeks :) really lovely present for him.

fwiw i had been feeling movement from 16ish weeks but he had never been able to detect it.

16 weeks with ds. You could see/feel him easily. MW commented on it at my 16wk check. She was really surprised by how wriggly he was. Was more like 25 weeks with dd.

I'm 21 weeks and last night I put a remote control on bump and when I felt a kick it moved! Maybe try showing him something like that? it is quite amusing! :)

Good idea to put something on belly - a bit like the Maltesers ad. Laughing at the comments about OHs not wanting to touch at all. The first time he tried, DP looked like he was standing at the bar - one hand on my belly (like the bar), bent at elbow, facing other way, kind of stance. :)

DP said he felt it about 23 weeks or so, but then at 25 he had my hand on my stomach and jumped back when baby kicked, turns out he only slightly felt anything before and couldn't believe how strong he actually felt it then, but he didn't want to upset me so had smiled and nodded before Hmm
