pregnancy hormones and libido

1st trimester sick and not feeling very attractive but usual libido level, 2nd trimester pretty tired, 3rd trimester - libido increased massively but too big to manage to do an awful lot about it!?

Anybody-else had any significant libido changes during pregnancy?

I'm still in the first trimester, but mine has increased massively.

I don't know what on earth has happened "down there" but orgasms are better and easier to achieve.... no one told me about this side effect of being pregnant!!

Sorry if I'm rubbing it in, but I'm loving it Grin

Long may it continue.....

19+2 and mine increased towards end of first trimester. DP was first a little worried about us doing too much but soon got over that Grin

I was desperate for it pretty much all the way through. Dh not so keen though :(

It wore off from about 30 weeks where i was just plain fed up. ds was born at 35 :(

I'm with you cake - I'm 20 weeks and my libido's increased massively, and things are, errr, better Blush :o I'm just making the most of it while I'm not too massive....!

23 weeks now and i am more rampant than i have ever been in my life. by quite a long way. it is bizarre. verrrry sexy dreams every night, crazy orgasms at the drop of a hat. it used to be that i needed a very specific approach to get going, now i just need to hear the twang of knicker elastic and i'm ready...

but this only started at 14ish weeks. i was a sick, tired, bloated wreck up till then.

Im 24+2 and mine has increased throughout the whole of my pregnancy so far.
Though saying that, there are times when I cant stand DH touching me or even being near me; then the next day Im ravenous and jumping on him!!
He's all very relaxed about it either way which is lovely and overall Im definitely more into 'it'!! Smile

Was wondering actually if there was a link between change in sex drive and the sex of the baby. ie. presume its all down to hormones so was just wondering, say for example, if you have an increase in libido you might be more likely to have a boy due to increased testosterone or something??!!

Phew - glad it's not just me Blush!

I was the same when pregnant with dd (this time it will be a ds) so not sure what happens to the hormones... The problem is it is getting to the stage where I can't sleep at night and am pretty much up for it all the time but b/c the bump is so huge it makes it difficult to do much! And also whereas before once I'd "hit it" so to speak I would be fine but now I find it difficult to get satiated - even though I technically am if that makes sense?!

Positive apparently you get way more aroused in pg because of the baby's weight pressing blood flow down into the ladybits :) i.e. if we had penises, we would have permanent hard-ons!

as far as i understand it's not hormonal.

1st trimester: huge increase and by far some of the best orgasms I've had!

2nd trimester: Nada; Not a Sausage (if you'll excuse the expression), but fortunately dh doesn't appear to be massively bothered either... (or he could be being a saint and hiding it well). Sometimes I do wish he was a bit more interested because it would do wonders for my self-esteem :) but if I'd only be disappointing him then it's probably best as it is!

3rd trimester: I'll let you know!

I'm with oikopolis with the rampant feelings. Came on all of a sudden at 14wks. Am 16 wks now and want it to ease off a bit so I can have some non sexy dreams and for my brain not to be on it all the time! Poor DH!

1st trimester wasn't interested felt rough etc, 2nd trimester my poor dh nympho springs to mind!
3rd trimester seriously not interested again banned dh totally! Be nice to get back to normal

Pretty normal through first trimester - I felt sick, but orgasms seemed to help. Interest waned during second trimester, also got very sensitive to his smell, particularly if alcohol involved - he didn't stop drinking, so got less sex. Now third trimester, I'm a bit more interested again, but maaaan.. it's all SO sensitive, it almost hurts. And I feel like I've been punched in the vag afterwards too. We're keeping on going with once or twice a week, but it's getting less fun. I can't WAIT to be back to normal.

YES!! I said this earlier on another thread here but as soon as I am pregnant my libido goes through the roof and takes a while after baby is born to go back to normal. I even lied to DH and told him I had my go check at 3 weeks so he would sleep with me.

Increased massively in first trimester, despite sickness, was very sensitive in a good way and still interested even when feeling really rough!
Reduced since I've got bigger. Now in third trimester and I wouldn't turn it down, just happy to not bother and definitely not going to take the lead.

I do feel sorry do dh I did go mad in 2nd trimester but 3rd with 17 days to go I've banned him, the look on his face
