Am 6 weeks with dc number 2 from the start of pregnancy with my dd i was so sick i couldn't move or do anything without throwing up!

This time i have no sickness and feel so full of energy in the mornings. yet after lunch i am exhausted and just want to sit down.

Is this normal?? i am quite paranoid as had a mc previously before my dd, if i was sick i would believe i am pregnant i think.

Several tests confirm i am indeed pregnant and I've had no bleeding just the usual growing pains and back ache

I was like that in the beginning, just felt a bit unwell in the evenings and tired, but wasn't being sick, and then I got to 8 weeks and the sickness really kicked in, so you may be getting it soon. Enjoy the no sickness and lots of energy whilst you can! Lol.

Flightty · 24/05/2012 10:29

You lucky thing is my first thought!! Smile

Yes totally normal. I am exhausted by evening and till this week I was also having a nap in the morning and sometimes afternoon! I'm only just ahead of you at 6+4 now and the tiredness is not so all consuming but am feeling pretty sick.

I wonder if you're having a boy this time?

Flightty · 24/05/2012 10:30

Btw - sorry to hear about your MC, I sounded a bit insensitive there x

bettybat · 24/05/2012 10:34

I had no morning sickness, but in the evenings it was like I'd been hit by a truck! Something akin to travel sickness, but not being sick, heartburn and just needing to lie down from about 5pm. I was like that from about 6 - 15 weeks, until the fog started to lift.

To reassure you, I don't think there is any prescriptive "morning sickness" type. I had very random actual vomiting - like, once every 3 weeks or so. I felt more like I had just taken a Valium randomly - completely stopped me in my tracks, at the same time every day. I literally hit a wall, felt sick but hardly ever was, and had a strange phase of about 3 weeks of extreme heart burn from 6-9 pm every night!

SkinnyMarinkADink · 24/05/2012 10:51

It gets to 1pm after lunch and i just totally shut down and feel so exhausted when by 7 i need to go lay in bed however as soon as my head hits the pillow and i think of sleeping i am wide awake! some nights i have been awake till 1am.

Wish i could have naps with dd i slept all the time now i am lucky to sit let alone nap.

travel sickness is exactly how it feels. i just hope everything is normal and ok.

I am thinking boy also

You definitely have symptoms that are listed on the wide spectrum of pregnancy symptoms Grin

Try not to worry...there is no set route through morning sickness. My mum, when pregnant with my brother, was sick once every single morning then fine throughout the day. With me, she was lolling around on the couch ALL day, poleaxed by nausea and very unwell.

And you hear it a lot by women on here - everyone has a very different experience, and different experiences on each of their pregnancies. It being called morning sickness is very disingenuous.

SkinnyMarinkADink · 24/05/2012 11:08

I am i being naieve in thinking if i am not bleeding then everything is ok??

minipie · 24/05/2012 11:57

You sound a lot like me! I haven't really got sickness, feel fine in the mornings (as long as I eat something) but in the afternoons I am just shattered.

I'm nearly 12 weeks and been like this all the way through (and I know everything is ok as I've had 3 early scans Blush so it's clearly not a sign something is wrong).

hope that reassures you.

SkinnyMarinkADink · 24/05/2012 12:00

Do you know if you can get early scans due to being anxious?

OP posts:
minipie · 24/05/2012 12:03

I had mine due to bleeding. I think some places will scan you due to anxiety though, esp if you've had a previous mc. Try calling your local EPU?

SkinnyMarinkADink · 24/05/2012 12:08

Yea think may do; were off on holiday on Sunday so a week away will keep my mind off anything negative. midwife for the 11th June so that will put me at 8 weeks.

May see if i can convince Dh to do a private scan

I am exactly the same. I feel gradually worse as the day goes on. I'm 9 weeks now, but this has been going on for 4-5 weeks at least.

It's kind of nausea, but I don't think I will actually throw up (although have come pretty close at times), but it's also worse than nausea in a way - it's like when you're in the final few days of having the flu and have a load of nondescript symptoms which make you want to stay in bed.

One afternoon I tried to go to the mall, came over all white and sweaty, had to go and sit in a McDonalds and still couldn't move (even after a Big Mac meal!) for about half an hour. So now I just tend to stay at home during the afternoons and cuddle up on the sofa.

If I eat every hour, that definitely helps, and also if I have my main meal of the day at lunchtime that also helps. I hardly eat anything in the evening because I am feeling too awful by then, so I usually go upstairs with a book and drop off to sleep early because being awake is just too rubbish.

By the way, I've had a number of early scans and (at the last one 2 weeks ago) there were twins in there!

feesh · 24/05/2012 12:34

Forgot to say as well - in the mornings I am completely fine. I was lying awake at 4am this morning, annoyingly perky (DH is sleeping in the spare room for the time being!) thinking I could just murder a spaghetti carbonara! Now if you even say the words 'spaghetti carbonara' to me after 6pm, it would have a very different outcome.....

SkinnyMarinkADink · 24/05/2012 12:47

Feesh congratulations on the twins how do you feel about it?. i really do hope im not having twins as this would really throw us upside down.

Dh did suggest to me having a big breakfast to see me through to our evening meal but i find picking a lot easier.

dd wants to play in the sun but being outside makes me feel worse

Just spoken to the early pregnancy unit and they are going to do a scan tomorrow.

she did say though because i am still very early they may not be able to see anything so not sure if that will make me feel worse?

OP posts:
feesh · 24/05/2012 13:28

I'm sure you'll be fine - your tests are positive and you're feeling terrible - just because you're not actually vomiting doesn't mean you're not pregnant.

I had a scan around 5 weeks and we could just about make out one gestational sac. It wasn't until 7+2 that we saw 2 little sacs in there with 2 heartbeats!

Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine. I've heard of twin mums being MUCH more sick than me, and some having no symptoms at all, so I don't think you can use how you're feeling now to predict whether or not you're expecting twins.

SkinnyMarinkADink · 24/05/2012 13:41

Thanks Feesh.

I think its anxiety. i am always glass half empty in these situations. i so want to enjoy it but something is telling me not to

OP posts:
feesh · 24/05/2012 16:39

It's understandable given what you've been through before. Good luck tomorrow.

SkinnyMarinkADink · 24/05/2012 20:58

Thanks Feesh..

After being concerned about the lack of sickness i have spent the evening glued to the toilet. unfortunately its the opposite end (tmi sorry)

wishing i had not jinxed it now

I am 11 weeks today. Been having fever chills since my 9th week only in the evenings starting 4pm. Then a funny stomach ache follows

Maxwell6 · 13/12/2018 03:15

Hello, I’m 7 weeks pregnant and for the past week and a half have been feeling similar to what you explained. I’m okay during the day but around 4pm I get the chills and feel awful for the rest of the night. It feels like how one feels with a fever, but no actual fever. How long did this last for you? I can’t seem to find anywhere this being a normal pregnancy symptom. I saw my baby’s heart beat last week and it was very healthy the doc said.
