40+2 baby has come down the birth canal half way before cervix :s

Had my midwife appointment today, As soon as I walked in, she said "What are you still doing here!?" She thought I would have given birth weeks ago due to my body having strong bh's regularly and that they'd go into the real thing.

She did a 2nd sweep (last one was a week ago) and she said baby's head is very low. She then said "little monkey"... Your baby has come down the birth canal half the way! but the cervix (is open) but is still posterior. So baby has come down without letting the cervix come first. Any body had this???

She said this shouldnt cause problems though but when it does come down, baby will not take long to be out at all :s still roughly 1cm dilated too.

Been for a long walk by the river this evening, and I am having tightenings every 5-7mins, not painful just uncomfortable, and lower back ache/hip ache. baby is squirming around still, also it's been on the right of me for 9 weeks total, and today its on the left...

I just really dont think its ever coming out lol

Still no baby...
Ate pineapple last night, plus sat on birth ball. Would try vindaloo
But can't stand it. Tikka is the hottest I go! Lol

What else is there to help ? Dd didn't come until 40+5 and I'm only
+3 today. I feel sooooo stretched now. And all through the night
I've had a nasty cough and major toothache from a loose filling! Pain
But in the wrong area. Typical!!

What else can i do to bring the cervix down? what if it doesnt come down? where baby's head has gone down first :s

Nothing will work, just give it time and trust your body. Relax and forget about pineapple, curry, long walks and sex!

A friend of mine had to have her cervix pulled down :S

the cervix is the opening to the womb... your baby is still in the womb... i'm not really understanding what you mean.

the baby's head can't go down before the cervix...

Sorry, I don't understand either. How can the baby have descended anywhere if you're only 1cm dilated?

Hope it's all resolved soon anyway. Can't be much longer now.

The baby's head is pressing against the vaginal wall and the cervix is behind the baby's head. So in effect the baby is well engaged but the cervix has not yet tilted forward to be over his head.

So the midwife is feeling the head through the vaginal wall.

Accupuncture appointment tomorrow morning?

I had accupuncture 40+8 and she came the next day. She left little plasters things in my pressure points which DP pressed down on every hour.

Yeah thats how she exactly described it, "Oh, little monkey! and I said oh no whats wrong, And she said nothing, you're baby has come down the birth canal and left the cervix back up there. When it comes down all it needs to do is come over the baby's head" :s

She drew a diagram too but i cant do that on here...

ohhhh, i see.. i didn't even know that could happen!

well let's hope like she says it's quick when it finally happens :)

I am just trying to think of my dates now. I have always gone by the 15th Aug 2011. but never 110% as my periods were give or take a few days.
but being 40+6 now is a joke! 1 day more than DD was over!!! I am so fed up!
keep getting irregular niggles but nothing painful or consistent yet
