Silly Question, waxing whilst pregnant

I am 37+2 and I have booked in for a leg and bikini line wax. Then I've just thought is it safe to have the bikini line wax at this late stage (I have never had this done before so a bit naive) Hmm. Not sure if the actual products used and / or pain that may be part of this, can be used or not, is sensible not?

Not sure, I know epilation during pregnancy isn't recommended because of the bacteria that can get in when you pull out the hairs. I'm not sure about waxing - hav you spoke. To the beautician about it?

I wouldn't recommend Brazilian/Hollywood waxing as a 1st timer at 37 weeks but normal bikini waxing will be fine Smile are you used to leg waxing? If not you may find the whole experience a bit sore as one is more sensitive to pain when pg.

I had a bikini wax on Saturday (18 weeks) and it was really sore, probably the worst it has ever been. Just be prepared for that :(

Waxing is fine. However, I echo what others have said....it hurts a lot more in pregnancy and if you're a waxing virgin, then it may be too much to have all off. Oh, just read you're only planning a bikini line...that should be fine.

OMG. Leg wax was fine, no problems at all. Bikini wax, well I won't be in any rush to repeat that experience. Sorry if TMI but I'm now all bruised, yes bruised and swollen Hmm. No Brazilian here only just managed a small tidy up Blush

Ooo, doesn't sound good! Well done for being organised though. I was absolutely determined when I was pg with DS that I would book myself in for a last-minute tidy-up but then I was hospitalised and induced early so I didn't have the chance. I ended up with furry legs in stirrups, muff a-tangled, weeing on the rather unimpressed registrar Blush This time will be different.

applecrumble I'm sitting here with spotty legs after epilating legs and am 9 weeks pregnant!

Please tell me I son't have to endure razor rash for another 7 months.

Hi modern I have the Braun epilation, used it throughout my pregnancy (am now 20 weeks) & have just read the instructions & it says it's not recommended for pregnancy due to the low immune system & there is a risk of bacteria getting into the skin when you pull out the hairs. It does say to check with your medical practitioner, but my MW has gone AWOL & my gp surgery is a nightmare to get appointments so am not using it for the time being. Nightmare as need to dehair my thighs & bikini line for a spa day tomorrow so am goin to have to shave, grrrr. If you find out anything about epilators, can you let me know please! :)

I can only say iv Braun epilated through 2 healthy pregnancies and into this one which is going well and I'd think the bacteria risk is remote
