Anyone recently had 12 week scan at Chelsea and Westminster?

Can you tell me, do they give you the Down's screening results on the same day, or do you have to wait? Thank you.

If you're having a combined dating scan and nt scan then they send results later. Although, we asked sonographer what he thought and he said all looked fine.

I am under chelsea and westminster hospital and they're fantastic, the care is excellent.

I hadn't got mine by about 14.5/15 weeks so I called the hospital. They gave them to me over the phone. Apparently they get sent to my midwife team to be given to me at my 16 week appointment... I was getting fed up with not knowing so I called. They did say 2-3 weeks by post and if you are high risk they will call within 5 days I think, so I was reassured that I wasn't high risk by that point at least!

They do tell you the nuchal fold measurement on the day though - it's the bloods that take the time.

Well, I told all my friends after the 12 week scan (couldn't be arsed to make excuses about not drinking anymore) but didn't put it on FB until after the bloods result. I did with my daughter but for some reason, this time round, I seem more cautious/nervous. It depends though what you would do if you were high risk I suppose...and whether you would discuss it with the people you told anyway. Most people I know do tell everyone after the scan, and I did tell all my close friends - just for more distant friends/acquaintances on Facebook I waited until after the bloods. A couple have waited until after the bloods.

I didn't tell most people until after then results were back, and then only a select few. We waited until after 20wks scan to make a wider announcement. Good luck!

Im going to the Chelsea and Westminster for my 12 week scan on 24th August but I haven't seen the midwife for my booking in appointment yet. Will they do this at the same time?

Annamarie - no they wont do your booking appointment at the same time. You should hopefully get the booking appointment before - or at around the same time...It was a toss up which came first for me, but the midwife had a spare slot so i sae her before in the end (12 weeks)

I got my Downs results in the post AGES after. I had to chase the community midwife who had been sent them.
