Hi, on Friday night I went to A&E and had my levels checked which was 618...

Today (Monday) morning I had my levels checked and are only 950... So not doubled, and they need me to come back...

Is this really bad news???

Hi hope you're doing OK and have someone in RL who is there for you right now. I went through this in February so know the terror you must be feeling.

How many weeks pg are you? As you know they like to see them doubling every 48-72 hours but everyone is different. Although it could be a sign that there is something wrong, it might be normal for you. When have you to go back to hospital? xx

I'm not sure, I thought maybe 5/6 but could be 3/4/5...

I've got to go back on Wednesday.

What happened with you if you don't mind me asking? X

Not at all. I went to the doc for my normal app to tell him I was pg and he started asking loads of questions and decided to refer me to the epu. i think it was because I had pain on one side. I foolishly thought this was a great idea and I'd walk away with a nice picture :( Anyway I was 5.5 weeks and had hcg of 1100ish. As it was over 1000 they scanned me and thought that they could see pg in womb. Told to return 2 days later for more hcg. A few hours later i got a call from the registrar and was told that my 2nd hcg had only risen to 1200ish that this was textbook ectopic and I had to come in straight away. She told DH to bring me in immediately with an overnight bag for surgery the following morning. All very scary. Next moring i was scanned again and baby was confirmed not ectopic. As was in specialist hospital, i was then referred back to my local hospital the next day for a further scan. baby had grown so told to return 2 weeks later. Actually mc naturally later that week.

The registrar at the specialist hospital told me that once they can see the pg on a scan they take less of an interest in the hcg levels as they can vary so much from person to person and from pg to pg.

Hopefully they will be able to get a clear picture of what's going on on Wednesday. And please remember that your hcg increased at a far greater rate than mine did. My experience ended badly but when I was going through it all in Feb, I read loads of posts with positive outcomes from slow rising hcg. Really wish you all the best. xxx
