Hi,

Went to the doctors today as needed blood pressure check also had been having some minor spotting - brown and very light if not TMI.

Doc says it is probably nothing but has referred me for an early scan which should happen in next couple of days.

What is really worrying me is doc said I should do another pg test. Test still reading as pg but I used clearblue digital and am coming up as not being any further along than I was 2 weeks ago. Having said that didn't use first urine of day either time and it says in the instructions the time since conception indicator is only accurate if you do it first thing.

Any advice/ reassurance would be very gratefully received.

How early is your pg? Is there any pain with the bleeding?

If I were you I would get some First Response just to make sure the all important line is there and not worry about time since conception and all that malarkey (modern technology giving us more to worry about!). If you are over five weeks I would just get a load of cheapo supermarket ones and test as often as you need to reassure yourself - I know one lady who tested every day for the first month or so!

Hi,

I'm 6 weeks +6 as of today - first tested two weeks ago and it said 2-3 weeks since conception and is saying same thing today. Instructions say that bit is only accurate if you test first thing, though.

I have some pg symptoms, mild nausea, boobs seem a bit bigger but are sensitive rather than sore, but not exactly throwing up loads or anything.

Oh and no pain, have had mild twinges on and off but certainly nothing like cramps/ period type pain.

I'm not a doc but a bit of spotting doesn't sound too bad.
I second advice to forget about the digital result and reassure yourself with a good old blue/red line.
Good luck...

Don't draw any conclusions from clear blue test. You can't tell too much from symptoms either. If you take ordinary tests they will continue to show that you are pregnant, as they only need a level of over 25 ish, but they can't tell you what is happening with your pregnancy. Basically the scan is the only thing that can tell you what you need to know, and I know it's horrible to have to wait even a few days. I wish you the best of luck, and have got my fingers crossed that everything looks good for you.

like you say, the test says that you need to use first urine of the day to get an accurate conception date. Otherwise your wee will be more diluted, so the levels will be lower.

have you got another one you can try first thing tomorrow morning?

gothinrecovery · 21/05/2012 17:12

Not got another one no. Had thought of that re being diluted but then it would have been both times I did the test. The instructions did say that it wouldn't be accurate and also said can give wrong readings if hormone levels are too high.

Think I just have to cross fingers and hope for the best :(
