Hi,
I am 39 weeks pregnant tomorrow, and yesterday my baby did not move all day until approx 10.45pm. At first I was not worried as I had NO sleep at all friday night, as he kept moving so much, so I just thought he was asleep after a busy night! I did start to get worried but then I felt him kick once at approx 10.45pm. after this I could feel him pressing into different parts of my body, but no where near as much as normal! When I got into bed, he was still hardly moving, which is very unusual as this is normally when he decides to play and be very active!!
Also throughout my various trips to the loo during the night, I have noticed the tiniest amount of blood - not sure if you could call it spotting or not as it is such a small amount, but it is there everytime. Dont think its a plug, as its such a small amount, and a very light red - not dark and sticky like my midwife told me.
I am a first time Mom so do not know if this is normal or not. Any help or advice please, as I feel I am being over panicky if I ring triage or the community midwifes.
Thanks

just go to the hospital to get checked out.
could be nothing but better to be safe.

MousyMouse · 20/05/2012 10:33

and go now

What mousy said. No it is not 'normal' and needs checking asap.

Given the lack of movements I would call maternity triage - they will be able to advise you and will probably ask you to go in for baby to be checked. It is what they are there for and they would rather that you called than sit at home worrying.

I called mine when 41 weeks and they were very helpful and I got checked over and was all fine.

Hi, Please please go hospital now, they will rig you up to a monitor for a few hours and keep an eye on baby.

I lost my last little one at 7months and i don't want to cause alarm but reduction in movements must be checked don't feel like you are making a fuss etc, just go to put your mind at rest if anything.xxxxxx

The movements do change towards the end of pg. I think they do a kick test? So many kicks per hour or something, maybe google it? Things that used to help me make baby kick more, laying on right side, drinking a glass of ice cold water. Not sure about the blood apart from maybe the cervix is starting to ripen?

I would call your midwife, or the maternity ward to have a chat and tell them what's been happening, lack of movement is taken very seriously. They may just want you to pop in to have a check on baby depeding on how baby has been since. Don't worry about ringing them, the most important thing is you and baby Smile
