Hideous hideous mucus hell

I'm about 12 weeks pg. Every evening at about 6 the mucus hits... My throat suddenly fills with evil phlegm which I then have to swallow or spit out, neither of which really helps. It lasts all night. In the morning I hack some crap up and then it's usually ok until the next eve.

I know things could be so much worse but it is getting me down and my hubby only gets to see me during Mucus Time when I'm really not much fun...

I've tried nasal sprays, gargling, neti pots, olbas oil on a tissue but nothing seems to work.

Has anyone had this before and if yes can you reassure me it a) goes away in 2nd trimester b) gets easier to deal with or c) there is a way to treat it?

sorry :( I've had it all the way through and currently 29 weeks, is probably the cause of my snoring Blush
its basically blocked up from the back of my nose down to my dangly bit!!

Sorry to hear you have it too, I'm hoping that the accompanying nausea will subside and that will make it a bit easier to deal with...

I also have chronic burping Blush

the burping is ridiculous isn't it. DH says i should start selling to British Gas and i'll make a fortune.

i had a lot of mucus in my nose/post-nasal drip in 1st trimester, especially towards the end of it. am actually fine now, at 22 weeks. it may pass. fingers crossed!!

I've had this, and it is truly horrible. mine lasted all day, and made my nausea worse, in the end i found jakemans menthol sweets helped a bit. At 22 weeks it's pretty much gone.
