Unsure if I am pregnant /:

Here is a photo of my belly: i46.tinypic.com/2zntnxh.jpg

Okay so to me I look like I'm pregnant but I'm unsure if I am

I took 2 HPT like a couple of weeks ago, I'm pretty sure I saw a very faint line and a dark line, which means positive but I'm also unsure so going to take another in the next week or two.

I haven't really had most symptoms that people do get, though I came on my period a couple of months ago for like 2 weeks and have been off since (sorry if TMI) and didn't really think much of it because my periods are abnormal but not that badly!

I'm constantly tired and urinating more than normal, though I haven't had the sickness, although I do constantly feel sick, I never actually am.
I just 'feel' pregnant.
I used to be a slim size 8 then I just suddenly got my belly, my bf's mum who is a nurse even asked if I'm pregnant and said I Iook it.
I've never had a belly before this is why I'm so confused.
I'm thinking of just going my doctors and getting a blood test to see.

Oh! And I get constant headaches, also its probably too soon to even say (if I am) but I can 'feel' movement in my belly (no, not gas!)
I'm also constantly eating also, and haven't put weight on anywhere else

Hmm

Why not take a test now and find out?

HamblesHandbag · 19/05/2012 20:37

a bump isn't usually the first sign of pregnancy, unless you are 3 months+ pregnant.

you need to do a test, we can't tell you.

cece · 19/05/2012 20:41

Well if you are 8 weks pg you wouldn't have a belly symptom yet I suspect. I suppose you could be more pg than that? I think you either need to do another test and/or see a doc.

SpineInMyChill · 19/05/2012 20:46

I'm gonna get another test maybe tomorrow and see then.
But I've always been slim and lately my stomach has gotten like that and to me it doesn't look like a 'fat' belly.
I know you start showing at 3 months roughly so if I was pg I'd be that far gone, but I've read up a lot people who don't even get signs til' later or even find out they are til around 20wks in some cases.

And my period wasn't literally 2months ago, could of been longer, its just a rough estimate.

I can understand everything that you're saying it if you had a very very faint positive 2 weeks ago it is highly unlikely you're as much as 3 months pregnant. I know it's possible for people to have the hook effect and get a negative when they're actually pg but that's seriously rare.

In my first pregnancy I had very very irregular cycles and bled everyday. When I did a test I was 8+0 as I later found out and it was a very dak immediate positive. This time I tested at what I believe was 5+3 and it was a fairly dark positive after about 4 seconds.

If you were 12 weeks now and tested at 10 weeks you'd be expecting to have had a much stronger result tbh. But definitely test again. Generally a positive is a positive even if it's feint. You might need to ask for an early dating scan or blood test to clear things up.

Londonmrss · 20/05/2012 09:37

Why are you so reluctant to get a definitive answer? No one on here can tell you anything and the only symptom that means your definitely pregnant is a positive test. So rather than taking a test, as you say, in the next week or two, just take one asap and then you'll know.

mrsbugsywugsy · 20/05/2012 21:09

OP, I hope this doesn't come across as offensive, but how old are you? I'm asking because you sound like you might be quite young and it looks like you sleep in a bunk bed.

If so then you really need to talk to someone in real life about this.

And either way you need to take a test!

SpineInMyChill · 20/05/2012 23:06

I'm 22, and its my BF's room, him and his brother used to share it thats why there's a bunkbed in the room and I'm going to phone my GP up about it

Ah OK!

Good luck with the GP.

VickityBoo · 20/05/2012 23:12

I'm friends with someone who is pregnant and about the same shape as you, very slim. She is 20 weeks and is only just starting to show. It's not the same for everyone of course.

It seems like you want to be pregnant. Either buy another test or get a blood test done.

HauntedLittleLunatic · 21/05/2012 01:45

Could you be more than 3m? If that is a pg belly I would say it is at least 3m.

If you can feel movement you would prob be at least 4m.

The hormone that the pg tests for starts to drop from 3m, so a pg test will be getting fainter and may not show a positive even if you are.

I would go to gp. I think that would be more useful than another pg test potentially and could also consider other non-pg related concerns

Longdistance · 21/05/2012 02:05

I think you could well be pg. I had a feint line on my pg test with both my pgs. It could also indicate you may be 3 months + pg, or having a multiple birth.
Please do go to your gp, or get another test done, so you can be sure in your mind. You will probably need a scan doing so they can date you.
Good Luck x

ItsMyLastOne · 21/05/2012 10:14

Make sure when you go to the GP that they don't fob you off with just a urine test. You need a blood test at least.

HauntedLittleLunatic · 21/05/2012 10:16

Tbh looking at the pick a feel of the tummy may be most useful.

ItsMyLastOne · 21/05/2012 14:36

I thought the same thing earlier haunted and came on here to post that! Spine as you're so slim, if you're 3+ months you should be able to feel your uterus by now...
The best way is to lie down with a relatively full bladder. Relax your abdominal muscles as much as possible. Then have a feel around your pelvis and a bit higher up. It should feel like there's an orange/grapefruit/melon etc in there (depending on how far gone you are). You should be able to quite clearly feel the top part of the uterus and feel the definite round shape of it. But make sure you don't press too hard! A midwife would be the best person to try this if you can't feel it easily yourself.

Did you get an appointment with the GP?
