Okay so I'm having a shitty week. Seriously fed up with being the size of a whale now (typing this on my phone so there may be spelling errors etc) ...

The day before yesterday I fell flat on my face on the pavement. I skidded along for a bit and scraped all the skin off my hands and knees. Blood everywhere. 3 people picked me up (embarrassing). I was checked over by /@, baby is fine etc. But since then it feels like the baby has shifted down so much, my pelvis constantly feels bruised. Even moving my foot from the brake in the car bloody hurts!!! (Strangely enough triggers a pain in my pelvis).

I'm assuming the babys head is jolted lower down - was engaged already.. Plus I've done my shoulder in, having loads of braxtons and generally feeling awful. I am so annoyed as up till now had loads of energy!!!!!!

Today I've had the runs all day and can hardly move without severe aches and pains... Should I bother the midwife again or take a paracetamol or two and shut up? I have an elective section booked for 14th june.

Thanks for any advice or help x

Being pregnant your ligaments have softened and are more vunarable (sp?) I think you probably pulled yourself out of sorts when you fell. Saying that if you are worried I would phone your midwife as that is what they are for. Look after yourself xx

Sounds like you had a really nasty bang, and probably a bit of a shock too. Poor you! It sounds very painful.

I'm 38+4 (and booked for an ELCS on Monday), and I've had the runs on and off throughout this pg. It's grim, but I think quite common to have the runs at some point when you're pg, and hopefully isn't due to a bug. The head is also engaged here, and it does seem to be messing with my digestive system a bit more!

Definitely take a paracetamol and try to rest up a little bit if you can. If you want reassurance do phone the mw, she won't mind. Also if you start feeling worse, then phone the mw / GP / hospital for advice.

Thank you for the replies and advice. I will have a rest up and see how it goes... Really don't want to be having to go to the hospital to be checked over as its an hours drive away :( .. I'm hoping I'm just sore from my fall.

I've heard the runs can often be part of pregnancy... I've heard they can also be a sign of labour so I hope that's not the case!!

I might take some iron tablets just to stop the runs! But then I suppose it might "mask" anything that's going on.

Just want these last weeks over with. Feel quite nervous walking about now after my fall as I didn't even trip over anything, just my own feet!!

Thanks x
