Hi well just found out I'm pregnant aged 40, problem is I'm separated and have been since September. I met someone, whom i knew but not very well and one night we were foolish and didn't use protection and now I'm pregnant. Father wanted me to abort and promptly finished with me (only been seeing each a month!!)

I don't want to abort and will do this on my own but am having crampy pains all the time and am worried am losing it

Any advice would be appreciated

Well, congratulations on your pregnancy Pink!
Remember everything happens for a reason and I applaud you for wanting to keep it despite the father running away.

Crampy pains are normal in early pregnancy, but i'd get yourself a scan booked asap to see what's going on.

All the best :)

In that case I think you need a lot of will power and patience for now :)
I know it's hard waiting, but I do hope it all goes well :)

Oh bless them, that is lovely :)

You'll be absolutely fine - I have raised my 14mo DD alone so far!

Oh dear, I read that wrong. I was wondering what the father of a 40 year old thought he was doing asking her to have an abortion... you meant the baby's sperm donor father.

Sorry that we can't do anything else but sympathise with the patience required in early pregnancy.

But cramps are not unusual in early pregnancy (neither is a small amount of blood spotting if you get that), and don't indicate anything wrong. I'd only be concerned if the pain continues and gets worse, but even then there isn't much anyone can do at this stage.

Get on your folic acid and vitamin D (or an all-round pregnancy vitamin tablet containing both) if you haven't already and keep your fingers crossed.

Hope all is well xxx
