I know it's silly, but showing at 5 weeks?

Ok, it's my third and I realise things are not as ahem, tight as they used to be, but still. Is it not ridiculous to have a bump already?

Even if it is just my digestion slowing down or something - I know the baby isn't this enormous yet - I'm sure it was never this obvious in my last two pregnancies.

Does everyone get this with their later children? Stories please that do not involve multiple births Smile or if you must, Ok. but not more than two ok Smile

I am 5 weeks and it's also my third and I too have a bump, feeling very bloated too and crampy, god knows how I'll cope at 25 and 35 weeks!!!

Flightty · 17/05/2012 19:55

Oh good it isn't just me! with the wind

Isn't it strange?

I can see people looking already, mind you I don't mind, it's nice to have something to show for it rather than that thing where no one actually can tell, but you're still falling over in queues/looking nauseous/forgetting your keys Smile

I am truly useless already. As well as showing.

Twins..? Grin

Flightty · 17/05/2012 19:57

Noooooo

I'm sure it's not, I was feeling a bit sick at 3 weeks, but that sort of mainly wore off...I'm still a bit off, and I'm sure that's just the start but it's not worse than last time.

I think it would be if it were twins!

StrawberryMojito · 17/05/2012 19:58

Don't know about your bump but you're a very talented artist!

Flightty · 17/05/2012 19:58

Oh crikey Blush

I showed at 5 weeks with twins I'm afraid. I was similar levels of sick with single and twin pregnancy, I put this down to only boys making me sick as ds1 then boy girl twins.

SwissArmyWife · 17/05/2012 20:02

I was going to say, the amount of sickness you have is not an indication, unfortunately!

Pinklaydee1972 · 17/05/2012 20:03

Oh god im that big too Shock

Flightty · 17/05/2012 20:03

Oh thankyou Grin

Oh dear

I'm sure it's not

Twins are really unusual, right? It would totally ruin my pram plan. Shock

Flightty · 17/05/2012 20:04

It's even BIGGER when I am lying down, you know propped up reading.

Tis bizarre. Maybe we just have slack muscles...!

Ive got my iPad perched on my bump as we speak!!

Getting worried now flighty!!

onlyaname · 17/05/2012 20:09

I was showing from 7 weeks with first and earlier in this pregnancy, probably 5-6 weeks. I think it must be to do with body shape and my height.

I endured, and will have to endure, many comments about twins, having my dates wrong and it being a really large baby, (DD was 7 pounds!)

CervixWithASmile · 17/05/2012 20:10

I'm like this in early pregnancy, I think it's bloating, like a worse version of PMS. It usually goes with me after a few weeks before the actual baby bump starts.

Flightty · 17/05/2012 20:11

Oh goodness!

There must be a lot of us who are not having twins and are just, well, erm, hmm.

With my first I barely showed at all till I was about 6 months. I think I put on half a stone. Second was substantially bigger, but didn't show at 5 weeks, I know that.

Makes a good book/ipad prop though Grin

Cervix you know maybe you have a point. I do get a tiny teeny bump with PMS.

It is probably just that bloated thing. Was secretly getting a bit excited for a minute Smile

SwissArmyWife · 17/05/2012 20:13

Flightty - have a look at the icandy peach blossom pushchair Wink

On a serious note, Cervix's suggestion is probably more realistic :)

henrysmama2012 · 17/05/2012 20:16

I had a bump at 6 weeks and it definitely wasn't bloating - defo a baby bump!

Flightty · 17/05/2012 20:23

Oh I saw one of those the other day with stacked prams. I think it was one anyway.
I nearly crashed the car.

Yes Henrysmama - it feels like things are fairly, well, solid. I'm not sure what a bump is made of - things expanding and swelling up I suppose, as well as the whole wind thing...I guess we'll have to wait another couple of months till the scan!

No I'm sure it won't be two. Absolutely sure.

OP posts:
GobblersKnob · 17/05/2012 20:27

I was like that even with my first, it's nothing do do with babyness as your womb is still tucked well down in your pelvis, is all wind and water Grin

Flightty · 17/05/2012 20:28

Oh water retention! Yes! That'll be it. Oh you're clever, thankyou.

I couldn't figure it out, I'm sure I don't have THAT much wind!!

OP posts:
Pinklaydee1972 · 17/05/2012 21:52

I'm very windy. Maybe a name change to windylaydee!!!

kilmuir · 17/05/2012 21:56

bloat. great paintings

HappyAsASandboy · 18/05/2012 07:26

I didn't have any sickness at all with my twins, so don't rule double joy out on the level sickness :)

On a happier note, there are loads of cool double prams and they all do different jobs so you have to get lots :) I have 7 pushchairs Grin
