I'm 36 weeks tomorrow and starting to get shooting pains in my crotch, stop you in your tracks, let out an involuntary squeal type pains... Anyone else get these and what is causing them? Don't remember this from last time...

it's all your ligaments softening and your pelvis moving about and getting ready

I would say it's the start of PSD but you are a bit far gone for that really

I had it too, and for months and months after DD was born. I've had a bit again this time despite being 11 weeks. Maybe ask your MW for advice to see if there's anything that can be done to relieve it. I never asked about it, I just assumed everyone had it! Blush

sounds like spd to me, you might be able to get a quick referrel to a physio through your midwife. I got one less than a week after calling my MW with the pain.

She gave me a support belt and realigned my pelvis as it was out.

I think maybe I've been a bit euphemistic in my OP - it's not a generalised crotch pain it's more um.. vaginal! Like right inside my fanjo as if the baby is kicking me in the cervix? Although baby is head down but that's what it feels like?

I had the same thing, midwife said baby was probably putting pressure on a nerve. Pain only lasted less than a minute when it happened but my word did it hurt, stopped me in my tracks and probably made everyone around me worry i was about to give birth. It'll stop once the baby is out :)

I started this a few days ago, I am 36 weeks, so i guess it sounds normal. I am jealous though, baby is not head down yet, and I am ready to get this baby out.
