38wks (finally). I don't think this is labour but I have to say there's something mighty strange happening down below. I don't think its BH as I've had them for months, or at least I think I have. M
My poor wee fanjo feels like its under a bit of pressure, it feels a bit hot, and a strange sensation comes in kind of waves. When I walk I feel like I need to take baby steps or my bits will fall on the floor and I walk with a stoop.
I've felt LO head banging my cervix recently and this is a different sensation plus bump hasn't dropped yet.
Am I just being a drama queen? Should I just sit on my birthing ball and eat cake and leave the ironing and hoovering?

it's probably your baby dropping now thats causing the pressure you're feeling. sometimes you night not actually notice your bump dropping mine doesn't look much different dropped to before it dropped and this is me second. but the strange uncomfortable sensations and pressure certainly sounds like the baby is dropped now and banging on your cervix. it you start having any pains anywhere else around your stomach or the sensations start to come in regular more and more painful waves then i would call the midwife just to be safe but it's probably just the baby being engaged at ready to go. keep moving around and who knows you might be able to trigger labour!

Thanks Jesse, oh I'm so not ready for labour!! I only started mat leave yesterday and now this. Got the midwife tomorrow but if this carries on I'm going a curry eating, stair climbing frenzy. Ouch!!!

haha yeah i'm 36+5 with my 2nd preg and i've been getting the pressure feeling every now and then. then midwife confirmed yesterday i'm 3/5 engaged.

also curry only works if spicy food gives you a bad tummy. i can usually eat LOADS of really really hot food before my tummy even feels remotely affected so it didn't do the trick for me with my first preg. but walking and stairs climbing etc are definitely good ways to help trigger labour also sex is a common one.

Sex? Shock Ooh i'm way too delicate downstairs for that...plus DH runs a mile from me these days.

Not long for you either....its a good feeling to have the end in sight
