Evening ;)

I had my daughter three weeks ago on fri and I've had a letter through to attend an appointment when she's exactly 6 weeks old

I had a bit of a traumatic time, I was induced but she didn't like the hormone drip and her heart kept slowing so they had to keep turning it off, the result was after about 16 hours I'd only gone from 3-4cm to 5 so they decided to do a section, i was in theatre and the anaesthetist was testing how numb I was and my babies heartbeat completely crashed, there was literally one beat every ten seconds, so they put me to sleep straight away and basically wripped her out within a minute, she's beautiful and healthy thank god it doesn't even bare thinking about what would have happened if I wasn't already lay on that operating table

Anway sorry for waffling but are 6 week appointments at hosp normal if you've had a section? Or could it be becuase I had a shit time?

The letter says nothing about bringing baby, I'm gonna phone them tomorrow anyway so I know why I'm going I was just wondering if you lovely lot had any idea x

I don't know. Everything varies from trust to trust. I had dd at 42+3. Similar story cat1 section under general anaesthetic. Had complications after and was in hospital for 6 days. No follow up appointment at the hospital either

I had a follow-up appointment after prem delivery. It was basically to 'debrief' on what happened and give us a chance to ask any questions we had.

It was a completely non medical appointment and also set the scene for future pregnancies.

Who is the letter.from. if it is from an obstetrician then it will be for you (and I would say you as a couple) not baby, although there will be no issue taking your DC along.
