Hello, hoping someone can reassure me before I go completely insane :-)
I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks in March. I am now 6 weeks pregnant YAY! but totally terrified and probably over reacting to every slight nibble I feel!! But I've been having period like pains in my lower stomach ...... Is this normal??
I have an 18mo and I never experienced this from what I can remember? Also with my DS I was terribly sick, sore boobs ect ect but I really don't feel any symptoms at all!
I don't have an appointment with the midwife until I am 10 weeks which is a WHOLE 4 weeks away I think I might drive myself crazy before then!!!
Are these pains normal? X

I had awful cramps like that in early pregnancy. Everything was fine. If you're concerned you can phone your local early pregnancy unit and they will give you a scan.

It is really really common though.

My1stLittleMan · 16/05/2012 19:16

I can agree it is really common, im pregnant with my first and experienced these pains all the way to about 18 weeks, it was just everything stretching etc.. But like jenny said, if you have any worries call the hospital and speak to the community midwife or the early pregnancy unit :) goodluck x

Hi Mothership -vague, period like pains are pretty common in early pregnancy and like My1st says are usually just down to the uterus stretching. I had these pains with all 3 of my pregnancies.
However if you're concerned you could always just ring your midwife for a chat before your appointment.
Good luckSmile

I had the pains too, apparently its your uterus moving into a better position, very normal.

yeah it is the online things are showing 8th of Jan for me... mum tried worrying me and said she gave birth a month early with all of us... doubt that will happen though! She was riddled with everything going when she was pregnant she obviously liked to milk the attention bless her :-D
