Hi everyone .. I should properly name change for this but I'm just going to get on with it!

Back round: me and dh been together since I was 16 (12 years) was on the pill fell pregnant when I was 19 ( whilst on pill) shocked but we had our baby boy and very happy!!

2 years later we decide we would like another baby, we have our lovely little dd!

We decided that was our family and no more!
Didn't want to use the pill as scared I could fall pregnant again!! So chose condoms!

When our dd was 3 I found out I was pregnant .. Shocked but was ok about it, but had a mc!!
Me and dh decided after that we wanted another baby so tried for another child, I fell pregnant with our daughter ;) .. Very happy and complete!!

So 3 months after our dd was born ( using condoms) we had a tear so I went and took morning after pill early next morning!!!
2 weeks later period is late .. Pregnant!! .. With twins!!!

This was very stressful but our beautiful twins are here and really couldn't imagine life without them!!

So we decide enough is enough dh has a vasectomy .. Gets the all clear .. And today I'm 6 days late Done a test and a very faint positive .. Infact did 2 both same!!

I know some people find it hard to get pregnant and we are so so blessed with our children but oh my god really it's just so unfair .. We can't have anymore .. We have 5 children last 3 under 16 months!!

Totally feel for you, I feel pg after having a tear in a condom and having taken the morning after pill too. Have no advice, just wanted to offer my sympathy.

xkatyx · 17/05/2012 17:58

Jilted, everyone I tell about the morning after pill dot believe me, so it's "nice" to see I'm not the only one it has happened too.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 17/05/2012 21:45

It does happen and not being believed by other people just makes it worse.

Well took a tesco one last night .. Thought I would save the digital for the morning!! Faint line again on tesco!!

Went to use digital and dipped it in urine and it's a duff one!! No timer nothing grrrr

CupOfBrownJoy · 18/05/2012 09:07

oh bollocks katy, that's a pain about the digital.

Why not make an appt with your GP. get the yes or no once and for all?

Can DH watch the kids while you go?

goingmadtrying · 18/05/2012 09:23

that's not good about the digital!!! bloody tests i second trying to go to gp if dh could watch dc, failing that maybe try your local pharmacy as some offer a pg testing service, how frustrating for you :(

xkatyx · 18/05/2012 09:24

Dh is at work today Unfortunetly!! I'm sitting here just wondering and it is driving me insane!

i bet it is, you must be feeling so many mixed emotions, could you contact gp surgery and ask if you could drop off a sample for testing, explain about the uncertainty and worry and problems with childcare, the sooner you know for sure the better x good luck Katy

xkatyx · 18/05/2012 10:29

Thank you, I think what I'll do is call the doctor maybe have phone consolation, I wouldn't be able to drop the sample off as its a bit of a trex.

Maybe when dh gets home tonight I'll see if he will bring one. If not when my mum is back Monday from her weekend away so I'll go to gp miday of still nothing!!

I hate spending all this money on tests!!

hope you get the news you want. hopefully your DH can get another test for you on the way home. x

xkatyx · 18/05/2012 17:34

OddBoots · 18/05/2012 17:43

Oh goodness, it does sound like it's an early positive. I'm not sure what the right thing to say is but I hope it works out okay.

xkatyx · 18/05/2012 17:58

Thank you oddboots I have been trying to upload the picture it just won't let me!

You don't seem to have a public profile, maybe that's why?

option at the bottom of the page

xkatyx · 18/05/2012 18:23

Hmm won't let me choose a file to download.

I was thinking could I still have hormones after my last pregnancy?

OP posts:
RandomMess · 18/05/2012 18:28

I'm another one with a condom incident, took the morning after pill and she is now 15!!!!

For some people hormone contraceptives just don't work for some reason.

realhousewifeofdevoncounty · 18/05/2012 18:33

Sorry but I don't think you'll have hormones still from your last pg. The leave your body very quickly, for instance if you miscarry a pg test will be neg quite quickly. Sad I think you should see someone, there are some very rare instances where a pg test will show positive in the absence of a pg, these are rare but given that your dh has had a vasectomy you ought to get this checked out. X

xkatyx · 18/05/2012 19:48

Yes will be booking my self in for Monday!! Still no period though.

monkeymoma · 18/05/2012 20:09

so sorry katy sounds so stressful! there's no point compairing yourself to people who are TTCing because everyone has different considerations!
best of luck

xkatyx · 19/05/2012 18:18

After all those faint lines I start bleeding today 9 days late!!

OP posts:
Longtalljosie · 19/05/2012 18:39

That's a relief... although it could have been a chemical pregnancy. It might be a good idea for your DH to go for a sperm test to check his vasectomy really has worked?

monkeymoma · 19/05/2012 19:17

good news for you! hope you can get to the bottom of your contraception issues, sounds like you've been very unlucky!

RandomMess · 19/05/2012 19:27

Very good news indeed, def sounds like you could do with a check up (well both of you) sounds very odd indeed.

xkatyx · 19/05/2012 22:01

Dh has a test now booked on Monday :)
