Bump

I'm 18+2 and I still have no noticeable bump! Is still normal? When did your bump start to appear?

Everyone keeps going on about how tiny I am and it's making me panic. I'm still 2 weeks away from my next antenatal appointment and have no one to ask Sad

With my 1st, it didn't have a proper bump until around 20 weeks ish.

Mine has only just started showing at 21+5 and it depends what I wear. Last Thursday three people commented that I was showing, whereas today someone said it was hardly noticeable at all. I think it just starts differently for everyone, especially with your first.

aliphil · 15/05/2012 20:30

Mine didn't start showing until at least 20 weeks, and even now (27) people don't necessarily notice if I'm wearing a coat or baggy jumper.

Mothpop · 15/05/2012 20:37

I had loads of comments on how small I was and was initially concerned. I stopped worrying when I had several MW and Drs appts and bump still measured normally. I'm now 29 weeks and am definitely showing although still get comments about how small/neat I am - now its a pleasure!

Limejelly · 15/05/2012 20:38

Oh so I'm quite normal then, that's good to know!

Why is it when your pregnant people try and make you feel so paranoid?! I've had comments like "have they said that the baby's small then?", with daily inspections and shocked faces when I say how far gone I am.

I'm reading "I'm not fat, I'm pregnant," and it has a great line in it about how people will say "oh you're small" or "oh you're enormous," but no-one ever says, "oh, look, you're measuring exactly right for your dates." Grin

emblosion · 15/05/2012 21:57

Mine appeared at about 20 ish weeks, it seemed to be overnight, one day I just looked like i'd put a few pounds on, the next - bump!

melliebobs · 15/05/2012 22:01

Mine didn't appear itl about 25 weeks

squidkid · 16/05/2012 04:23

Mine is only noticeable in tightly fitted clothes, I'm 21+2. It popped out (to my mind) just before 19 weeks, but you can't see it when I'm clothed in anything other than skintight tops. Lots of people are telling me I'm small too, but baby was all fine at 20 week scan, all measurements spot on. Midwife said there was absolutely no problem with my size. I'm a normal size 10, not dead skinny or anything.

I've been trying to eat healthily and exercise throughout, and did lots of weights/core work pre-pregnancy, so I'm putting it down to that (and luck) and trying to be grateful not worried! I'm sure we'll all be massive before long!

crackersncheese · 16/05/2012 17:27

I'm 35 weeks and feeling massive but people have only started saying I look pregnant in the last couple of weeks. I'd got myself in a proper panic that there was something wring with the baby after all the comments on how small I was. I burst into tears when the midwife said I was measuring bang on for my dates i was so relieved Blush. You'l be fine :)
