Hey everyone, freaking out a little?, I was with my midwife last wk (at 32+) and she told me baby is brim?! I've tried goggling it but not com in up wit an answer in lay mans terms! Anyone know what this means exactly?? Babies head is definitely really low, when I pee (sorry tmi), not very much comes out and I need to go again very soon after!

My bump seems really low also! I'm just thinking it's a bit early for the head to be so low! Anyone rose Been told the same? Im due 3rd July, but will be going in for a section a week before, just hope baby holds on until then!!! Thanks

Brim (to my understanding) is before baby's head engages in your pelvis. Once baby engages, it's measured in 5ths, some midwives say 1/5 is slightly engaged and 5/5 is fully engaged, some do it the opposite but either way brim would be the one before. Don't worry, if it's your first baby, my DS was about halfway engaged by 33 weeks and he came on his due date!

Thanks rock chick, it's baby number 3 after 6 years, so all feels new again to me!

If its not your first, your baby can dip from being engaged to popping vac out again, I wouldn't worry. Good luck for the next 7 weeks, hope it all goes smoothly for you!

My MW told me my baby's head was at the brim of my pelvis two weeks ago when I was 32 weeks. It means head is down literally on the brim of starting to engage. All sounds good to me, she was pleased Smile

I'm due 4th July and last week was 3/5th engaged then brim a few days later. Then she went transverse.

My baby is also brim, and I'm due 6th July.
