Could my waters have broken?

I was swimming with DD this morning when the water around me went warm - no-one else was near me so it wasn't someone else peeing! Have only just thought that perhaps it could've been my waters breaking? They didn't break with DD so not sure what it feels like/if they keep leaking afterwards. Nothing else has started since, I do ache down below but could just be from swimming. Could it have been my waters or would I know if they'd broken?

I thought mine went on Thursday. Mentioned it to the midwife who took a look and was able to confirm that they hadn't. Would really recommend that you go to the midwife asap to get checked. If it's earlier than you due date they'll need to be sure that you are safe from infection.

Sadly my panic was caused by poorly trained pelvic floor muscles (the shame).

Hope all is ok.

thanks for your reply. I'm 38 weeks so technically am full-term...

did you feel like the warmth came from between your legs?? i felt a pop when my waters went, could your dd have wee'd near you.

i would definitely contact the labour ward they should be able for have a look for you, fingers crossed you won't have to wait too much longer x

Your waters continue to leak afterwards, so put a maternity pad on and see what happens. Good luck!

DD was on the side so not her. Warmth did seem to rise but didn't feel a pop or anything. Not had any leaking since and no other signs so am guessing it probably wasn't waters.

Argh I didn't bother getting checked out as there were no other signs and no further leaking but now my mucus plug has gone (no blood) and DD is in bed so now I'm worried maybe my waters did go after all but can't go get checked out!

If your waters have gone, they are unlikely to do anything anyway other than check them for meconium and potentially induce you after 24 hours. Just don't have sex or use scented shower gel or anything, and go in tomorrow. Ring labour ward now though for your own peace of mind!

yeah defo ring the maternity ward, just for peace of mind, if your dh/dp at home maybe go in alone just to be checked, was your last labour quick?? good luck keep us posted :)

No he wasn't home and last labour was extremely long so didn't worry too much! Still no sign of anything and have got a midwife appointment later so will wait for that.
