Ovulation type pain but pregnant?

Hi

Just wondering if anyone has had this type of pain during pregnancy?

I always used to get a sharp, stabby pain (usually) on my right hand side just before ovulating.

Am now 19 wks and have had this type of pain on and off during the whole of the pregnancy.

Today it's quite niggly, there on and off all day and I guess I'm just wondering if it's normal? I mentioned about general aches and pains in my back and stomach at my 16wk check and the midwife didn't seem worried at all - said it's just hormones and in preparation for what's growing.

Still, this is my first pregnancy, it's such a specific type of pain that it seems daft to have it whilst pregnant and am worrying about everything!

Any words of wisdom would be very much appreciated!

I know the feeling, I've had similar, but having thought about it, it seems to be a strained muscle in the same region.

Have you had a scan yet (assuming you have and it was normal) it's probably ligament pain, I had this in my first pg too, it's the first time everything is stretching to accommodate a growing uterus.

The reason I asked if you had a scan yet is cysts on the ovaries, these are apparently quite common in pg, I had a large one in my 3rd. They don't usually cause pain unless they twist though.

Thanks for the replies. It seems to be getting easier so we'll see.

I had the 12 wk scan and nothing mentioned about cysts and have my 20 wk scan this week so I can always mention it then.

I had the same thing at about 10 weeks on a Thursday which would have been the exact time I would have been ovulating if i want pg. Exact pain down my right hand side and lasted about 6 hours. Spoke to midwife and she didn't think it was anything serious and have had a scan since then and all fine. It is odd isn't it, because it is such a specific pain, it's odd having the pain and being pregnant at the same time.

I've had it with all 3 pgs. 2nd one I had a cyst there. This time it seems linked to how full my bowel might be Blush. But alll 3 times I've had to be really careful about turning over in bed at certain times because it can really reall hurt!

It's gone away again after pg, btw.
