Can anyone shed any light on this for me, its my third pregnancy so should be a little more clued up, but i havent experienced this before.

I am 32 weeks with the spawn of satan (seriously felt dreadful for the whole pregnancy and the satan thing is the only reasonable reason i have come up with Grin )

I am getting horendous pain in my back, based around my spine, its a tingly tight pain and its taking my breath away. seems to come in a wave, increasing and the dying off again. started yesterday afternoon, about every hour/half hour and lasts for around a minute. I had back labour with DS and that pain was much lower in the small of my back where as this seems above that, middle of back then as pain increases it spreads to upper and lower aswell, all along spine...

What the hecking hell is it???

Wish they gave epidurals for pregnancy rather than just birth!

Thanks if you got this far i realise its very boring!

Pain in back, comes in waves every 30-60 minutes and lasts about a minute.

Are you sure it's not some really annoying braxton hicks or real contractions?

BabyDubsEverywhere · 12/05/2012 17:30

My bump isnt tight and can still feel him jiggling about, normally when i get BH whole bump goes hard,... dont say its real contractions it cant be yet i havent done a bag or anything, and i've just put a cake in the oven! Grin

Its happening regardless of what im doing, walking (hobbling) about, lying down, sitting etc, just less painful when moving, but still squidgy bump... only 32 weeks other two were on time... no no no, need a more palatable reason than contractions please Grin

Although only 22 weeks, I have pain which sounds similar in the middle of my back.

Went to see osteopath who recommended some exercises such as sitting on all fours and making back round, iykwim, and sitting on all fours looking over shoulder at hips, left and right.

Helps me a bit, hope it works for you, although I guess it might be harder at 32 weeks.

Good luck. Of course check with midwife or doctor if in bad pain / feels contraction-like.

If it's still happening and you haven't already, please check with midwife just to be safe.

It's probably nothing to worry about but the fact that it's coming at regular intervals suggests that it might be worth getting checked out properly just to be on the safe side. That's what they're there for!

I get pain in the middle of my spine sometimes, but it doesn't come in waves or at regular intervals.

Well its still happening, seems to be roughly 20mins now...this cant be contractions though surely, my bumps not hard, surely it must be hard to be a contraction, even for a BH! How have i already had two DC and not know this! Im going to have a hot bath and see if they stop... will call delivery suit if not, certainly very uncomfortable and unusual if nothing else. Thanks all :)
