I just opened a cupboard door onto my bump. Hurt quite a bit and has left a mark. Am now paranoid that I 've hit the baby. Have got a bit of pain up by right ribs. Baby is head down though. Am 32 weeks and have grown a lot the last couple so I havent quite got used to my new size I think, stupid thing to do though. Someone please tells me they're padded enough in there to be ok?

They def are. I only say this as I had a car crash last night and was convinced I'd done my baby serious damage (was a pretty heafty 40mph double bump crash) Had an emergency check up with midwife and baby girl was fine. Midwife said there is so much fluid and cushioning (I've not got a lot of fat tho) that it takes a lot to do babies damage in the womb. I'm sure your little one is fine hun xx

Crickey that puts things into perspective Sparkle, are you feeling alright now? Sounds like a rest is in order for you today.
Thanks for the reassurance though. X

I was using long shears on a particularly tough branch once when pregnant, and managed to pinch my bump between the end of the handles, hard! I panicked about it, but it was fine. They really are very well protected. :)

Yeah feeling fine now, bit bruised but midwife said I'd feel like that for a few days. I have spent the last week stressing and worrying about work, this has def put things in my life into perspective :) Glad it's given you a bit of reassurance x

Thank you everyone! Just feel like a bit of an idiot. Is so strange to have this huge belly to consider. Must try harder I guess!

I fell over in the bath in my first pregnancy, so hard that I pulled the shower curtain rail down and the bath came away from the wall! Every thing was fine. I called the doctor and he said he thought I would be completly fine and they are very well protected.
