The presence of a high resistance flow pattern :(

I found out on tuesday I may have a high resistance flow pattern. They did briefly explain it to me, but I'm still a bit confused on the risks and what has caused it. I have to have two more growth scans and I'll need regular monitering. Has anybody ever had this? Is there anything I can do to make the blood flow better? Will my baby be okay? Many thanks in advance.

Hi sweetpea did you have a Doppler scan? I had one last month at 23 weeks and was told my mean resistance was high and was booked in for growth scans too even though my 20 week scan had showed a fair size baby.

My scan on weds At 27 weeks was good, baby is growing fine and the sonographer did another doppler, which was normal. The consultant explained that the 2nd Doppler measured the baby's blood flow and the first measured mine, in short he is getting what he needs despite my resistance. I'm sure your baby will be getting what he or she needs too. Next growth scan in 4 weeks.
I was also told that they wouldn't let me go over 39 weeks because the placenta may deteriorate and I'm an old Bird of 42.
I don't think there is anything you can do but it is hard when you have news that you don't understand explained briefly and google to fill in the gaps and I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry..in this pregnancy I have been tested so much that I have found loads to worry about but am consciously not worrying cause that definitely won't help!
