Blood-filled mouth!

So on three occasions today my mouth has seemed completely full of blood! I've tasted it, popped a finger in to check, and there's definitely blood - completely red saliva comes out. I've rushed to the loo a couple of times convinced my teeth must be all red and Halloween-like, but they actually haven't been, so I'm thinking it must be coming from the back of my teeth or somewhere further back in my mouth.

Has anybody got any idea what's going on here and is it any cause for concern?!

hi i get this and its from nose bleeds that don't come out the nose they run down the back of my throat, maybe it could be this for you Hmm

Do you have something caught in your gums? Mine bleed loads at the moment :( it's really grim when I floss my back teeth at night. Dentist suggested Corsodyl mouthwash for two weeks, but you can also rinse with salt water, too (assuming it is your teeth!).

Nose bleeds and bleeding gums are really common in pregnancy. Something to do with increased blood flow near the skin I think...

Make sure you see your dentist soon, and regularly throughout pg, to reduce the damage that bleeding gums can cause.

I suffer from multiple nosebleeds per week - often short, but still yukky. I find that if these happen at night then the blood collects at the back of my nose and ends up in my mouth. Once I've had one bleed during a day I will be much more likely to have several more as the blood vessels have already been damaged.
I spoke to my MW about this and she says it's because the nasal mucosa becomes really congested and is very prone to bleeding - in particular an area at the back of the nose called the 'Little area'.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is what you are affected by but would encourage you to contact your MW for reassurance.

Same thing has just happened to me 28 weeks pregnant on route back from school run a 50p clot size bright red blood came in to my mouth when I spat it was quite watery and mucus like and then I was spotting up residue for a bit. This happened in my last pregnancy too and it’s quite scary
