Bleeding at 5 weeks pregnant

[LMC2012]

Hi every1, i am new to this page and hoping some1 can share a similar experience with me. i found out on Monday that i was pregnant but today at 5 weeks i have cramping and some bleeding :( its not really heavy, but what started as a browny / pink colour this morning is now starting to get red :( i spoke to EPC and nothing they will do until im 7 weeks, i just dont no what to think because i suffered a silent miscarriage @ 13 weeks in november, now this. I feel as if its never going to happen again, i have a healthy 4 1/2 year old son and never had any problems with that pregnancy.

Hey, I had a massive bleed about your time and I'm now two months gone . I waited a week then did a test which confirmed I was still pregnant , went docs who sent me for an internal scan when I was about six and a half weeks , I was fully expecting to be told I had had another miscarriage but they found a heart beat so it's not necessarily a bad news thing . Hope everything goes ok .

Hi Rimmer, thanks for your reply, ive read a lot of other stories that ppl have went on to have healthy pregnancies after bleeding early on but i dont want to get my hopes up again, i had a really bad time in november after D&C lead to womb infections etc. Im crossing everything, but 2 weeks seems so long away for internal scan :( xx

I suffered a miscarriage at 6 weeks and when I phoned the hospital they told me to come in for a scan at the early pregnancy assessment unit. Can you maybe explain to them that you are really worried and want reassurance? I hope whatever happens, you are ok.

Sending you lots of positive thoughts. :) I had bleeding at 6 weeks and then again at about 8 weeks, and I've since bleed twice (22 and 27wks) - but baby is still hanging in there, and I'm 28 weeks tomorrow. :o

Newbie6 i told them i was very anxious because of my silent miscarriage in november and they said they will not scan me in EPU until im 7 weeks :(

Poppy u are one of the good stories i have heard about, i have been trying for a baby since last may, my due date for last pregnancy would have been 21st May and i was so happy to conceive again before that date came around and now this :( I suppose its in the hands of nature and whatever will be will be, i will keep u all updated, reply appreciate ur comments xx

And if 2day wasnt bad enough some1 drove in2 the side of my car when my husband was collecting my son from nursery, luckily both r ok xx

I'm kind of in the same boat im 8 weeks pregnant and had a small bleed when I was 6 weeks but didn't have any cramps though and been spottin most days since then I have a appointment at my early pregnancy unit tomorrow morning for scans and tests just hoping everything is ok as I had a miscarriage in Jan im sooooo nervous!! I hope your bleed is nothing serious I have heard of alot of women bleeding in early pregnancy and going on to have a healthy baby fingers crossed we are the same xxxx

Good luck for 2moro xx im getting less hopeful for myself to be honest my bleed is more like a period now (bright red) and still cramping and now im feeling sick :( i will have to wait until the bleed finishes and take another test and see what that says. This is my first experience so dont really no what to think, my last miscarriage i had no bleeding etc, it was only at my 13 week scan that i found out i had a "silent" miscarriage and had to have a D&C.

Hey been for an internal scan today and I have had a hemorrage that's why I was bleeding baby is still ok got a strong heartbeat and growing fine but I still have a large sack of blood inside my uterus need to go back in 12 days to have another scan. Its a waiting game cuz the the hemorrage could push the baby out and cause me to miscarry :-(

thats good news, i know 12 days is a long time to wait but try and stay positive, hopefully everything else goes well for u, i rang EPU again 2day and they gave me an app for scan on friday, im still bleeding but have had no clots or pain, so dont really know what to think to be honest but i will find out for definate on friday x

I'm trying to stay positive but its do hard cuz there is nothing I can do just have to wait and see. I hope your scan goes ok its good that you have not passed any clots hopefully baby will be fine the midwife told me that bleeding early in pregnancy is quite common so fingers crossed all is ok. I had a missed miscarriage last year in November. The pregnancy was unplanned but I was devastated. We've been trying since Christmas and just got BFP just over a week ago so I reckon I'm about 5+ weeks. I started bleeding yesterday, brown discharge at first then nothing then pink and then red yesterday evening although not enough to wear a pad. Nothing all night and this morning slight brown again. Just playing the waiting game again now. Here to hold hands x

I know its hard to stay positive esp because we have miscarried before :( My bleeding seems to be alot lighter today but still dont want to get my hopes up for Friday, just wish i could find out sooner, will let you know how it all goes xx

Hi Bizzylizzy, u are in the exact same boat as me then. i had silent miscarriage in november last year, and am now bleeding @ 5 weeks, have you rang and spoke to anyone in EPU? xx

I rang the local midwifery team this morning as I have a booking appt on Wednesday. She told me to do a pregnancy test and if it's positive keep the appointment. It was + but they don't measure amounts so difficult to say at this stage. I hate all the unknown. Fingers crossed for you and your appointment on Friday.

My midwife told me not to take a test because it might not be accurate!! i know the unknown is the worst bit :( Good luck for ur app 2moro and let me know how it goes. My bleeding has stopped 2day, fingers crossed thats the end of it, just need Friday to hurry up now xx

Midwife came and has referred me to the early assessment unit. I have an appointment booked for Friday.

Hey LMC2012, glad your bleeding has stopped, and it's good that there's no clots etc... I hope Friday comes around quickly for you.

I started bleeding again on saturday 28 weeks :( and have been in hospital ever since, bleeding finally stopped today - hooray!! and baby is doing fine and is quite happy (Glad someone is! :))

ur the same as me then bizzylizzy, i hope u get good news, my bleeding is still stopped but i now have slight spotting (brown) only 2 more sleeps to friday it cannot come quick enough for me xx

well i went for my scan 2day and bad news ive had another miscarriage :( thats 2 in 6 months, they will not invesigate unless i have 3 in a row, i hope u got better news than me bizzylizzy xx

Sorry LMC. I miscarried on Wednesday this week I was 6 weeks- it's heartbreaking. You don't want to get excited early on in the pregnancy "just in case" but you can't help but make little plans in your head only to have them shattered.

thank u both for ur messages i am gutted but i just knew it, from that first bleed :( it was just like deja vu at the hosp 2day being told all the usual "its bad luck, u will get preg again" etc etc, yes u told me all that in Nov :(
but i am grateful i already have my gorgeous 4 yr old son who had big hugs and kisses for me @ bedtime,, that made me feel better :) xx

sorry for ur loss :( i know ur mind goes in2 overdrive planning it cant be helped, then ur brought back to earth with a bang :( we just have to try again and it will happen eventually :) x
