38 weeks & an upset stomach. Start of labour?

Sorry if this is tmi but I've woken up early this morning with bad diarrhea & it's not going away. Could this be the beginning of labour? Having some tightening too, but nothing more than that. No one else is ill & we've all eaten the same. Should I phone the midwife? Feel a bit daft as this is my 2nd but I was induced 1st time & have no idea what natural labour feels like.

Quite possible, I had it for 2 days then went into labour the day it stopped :) and then got another dose at hospital.
However I also suffered from being a bit loose for weeks before. But there is a difference between loose and diarrhoea

I had diarrhea in the morning and then 3am went to the toilet when head a pop and my waters went and then into immediate contractions with my Ds. With my DD no dio but woke up to contractions. I have known quite a few to get diarrhoea as an early symptom of labour.

If if it were me I would probably wait and see what happens if you are not having any definite contractions as might just be a bug.

Of course if you re worried. Call to the midwife won't hurt to put your mind at rest

Thanks, you'd think it would be easier 2nd time round but it's not is it?!

No its not easier, like you I was induced with my first so I had no idea what to expect with my second.

I definitely had this with my first, can't remember with my second (yes, I know I should remember the second really!! :))

Randomly - was the first sign of falling pregnant with all 3 as well!!

I had this with dd2. Tummy hurt after a while, as was having a major clear out. Felt rather ill with it too. Went to Sunday dinner at my mum and dads, and 3 hours later dd appeared. My clear out lasted 24hrs. Good Luck x
