Hi all,

I had a miscarriage in March at 6 weeks and my husband and I waited for my period to return before trying again. Anyway.....have taken a first response test this morning and there is definitely a line albeit it is very faint. Compared to my first pregnancy, this line is fainter so I am unsure if I should think I am pregnant again?

I am so happy if I am but also a little scared because of what happened last time but have everything crossed that I am and this little baby will last the journey! I plan to take another test tomorrow to check?

Yes!!! Congratulations GrinThanks

jessebuni · 11/05/2012 09:20

i would say it's pretty safe to say you are. most tests say that a line means pregnant regardless how faint but i would take an extra test in a few days just to make sure

Chunkychicken · 11/05/2012 09:20

A line is a line... Congrats.

I personally wouldn't bother taking a test again tomorrow, you'll just stare at it, trying to work out if its getting darker etc (it depends how late you are/how long before AF you took the test). Give it a day or 2, or until you're actually a fee days late, if AF has started, test again with your first pee. That should give a darker line.

I got a faint line, then waited 2/3 days and got a stronger line. He's now running around at top speed Smile Congrats!

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 11/05/2012 09:31

Probably, yes.

ShushBaby · 11/05/2012 09:55

I had v faint lines for a few days before getting a definite positive- and to be honest the lines never got very dark (as they did with my first pregnancy). I stopped testing in the end- that way madness lies. Had 12 week scan last week and all is well.

A line is a line! Good luck

I kept getting really faint lines with my son (now 15months) so in the end I just bought a digital clear blue test that says 'Pregnant' or 'Not pregnant' so much easier :)

gardenpixies32 · 11/05/2012 10:58

I had the faintest line with the first test. So faint that I wasn't sure and DP said no! I posted on here and everyone was great about reassuring me. I did a Clear Blue test 2 days later and it said pregnant. I am now 15 weeks pregnant with twins. Faint line is a line.

thefurryone · 11/05/2012 11:43

Faint line is still a line and mine has just had his first birthday. I remember scoffing at those CBD adds on TV, in a who is stupid enough to need a word rather than a line way, oh how I had to eat my words after that faint line came up Grin

gardenpixies32 I remember your thread, twins wow, congratulations! How did your MIL take being doubly wrong?

Beans1977 · 11/05/2012 11:52

Congratulations! I had a MMC last year and got a very faint line in January - I'm now 21 weeks pregnant with a healthy little girl.

I can understand the fear and anxiety after a previous loss - my advice would be try and take it a day at a time and enjoy it as much as you can, easier said than done in the early days I know!

Big congrats!

mrswee · 11/05/2012 11:58

My first test was a really really faint line, so faint I wasn't sure and I had to ask myself a few times if I was imagining it... but it was there so it prompted me to do another test later in the day. This time is did the test in a cup and the line was clear as day no mistaking it.. did a digital the next day just to see that word 'pregnant' but yes faint line generally means you are. Sometimes it can be faint because you soaked the test too much, do another in a cup.
Congratulations!

Katienana · 11/05/2012 12:50

A line is a line, and the biggest symptom of all is no period so I would say yes! My line was very faint when I first tested but as the weeks went on with no period I gradually started to believe!

Impatientwino · 11/05/2012 12:51

my really really really faint first response line is currently kicking me in the ribs and bouncing on my bladder at 29 weeks.

Congratulations, I hope all goes well for you. :)

newbie6 · 11/05/2012 13:18

thank you everyone, my period is due on Tuesday so I took one of the first response tests but there is definitely a line :) I have the clear blue digital tests too and they say you can test 4 days before your period is due to reckon will try again tomorrow with first response and maybe clear blue also - might as well use the tests as have them in the cupboard :)

so excited, just keeping everything crossed pregnancy will go well this time. Good luck and wishes to all the pregnant ladies on here!

xx

thefurryone Yes, she is doubly annoyed! Still hasn't congratulated me and I have seen her once since the BFP disaster (she live 5 minutes down the road). No evident excitement that she is going to be a first time grandmother to twins! Oh well, her loss I guess.

thefurryone · 11/05/2012 16:17

gardenpixies32 that's such a shame she's clearly a total cowbag! Definitely her very much her loss.
