My local hospital won't tell you the baby's sex unless there's a medical reason to. With DC1 DH and I decided to keep it a surprise but this time round we want to find out (just impatient and slightly better off :)). The scan is booked for the end of May and I am so excited! We've both agreed to keep the result between ourselves and I'm anticipating that it's going to be really hard to keep that secret, especially if people know we've found out, so I had to share on here before I burst!

So exciting we had out gender scan at 17 weeks as it got closer I couldn't think of anything else. Good luck keeping it quiet dh and I made it about 24 hours before we spilled the beans to everyone. We were so excited to be having our ds we wanted to tell the world!

My gender scan (with NHS) is next Thursday Grin I am so super excited!!! DH and I tell our parents/siblings but keep it a surprise for everyone else :)

I would like to have a second boy, whereas my DH would like a girl. We shall see :)

How exciting! I have mine on Tuesday. We're going to try and keep it a secret too, but I don't know how long that will last!

I had a private gender scan with DD last year because hospital scan wasn't sure. It's a really nice experience, very calm and un-rushed. They spend as much time just looking for gender as NHS do with all the measuring etc.
They had a basket of toys and books for DS to play with.

And they were right!

That they are right is rather important... :o I'll be 18+5 so hopefully it will be nice and clear. If we have to go back in another week's time I think I really would burst.

Good luck! We found out yesterday (I'm 21 weeks today) that we're having a little girl - like you we're keeping it to ourselves but it's already proving hard! I have to keep making myself say 'baby' and 'it' rather than 'she'... harder than it sounds! DH and I very excited!

I think I was 17+5 and doctor was 100% sure it was a boy even gave us a picture of his bits! Might be easier to be definite as it was a boy. Hope you manage to get a definite answer.

It is very exciting!

I also booked my gender scan this morning. I can't wait for my 20 week NHS scan to find out the gender. I wanted to keep the gender as a surprise but since finding out 10 weeks ago that I am having twins the surprise idea has gone out the window. Having the scan at 17 weeks, 16 days to go!!!!!!!
