Success after Salpingostomy?? Anyone?

Hi

I'm new to posting on this site and I have already been out smarted by technology once this morning so here goes again...

I had an ectopic in January which ruptured and meant I needed emergency surgery. It was pretty traumatic as many of you will no doubt know. I have read many of the ectopic posts including the ones with lovely positive endings but no one seems to have had a Salpingostomy (removal of the ectopic and repair of the tube). I had that rather than a tube removal (salpingectomy) since the surgeon saw adhesions on my other tube.

Has anyone had this and gone on to have a baby?

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your loss. While I am not yet pregnant, I had the same thing done. I had ectopic in March in the right tube. I had to rush to ER as I was in bad pain. Doctor told me I was bleeding internally but my tube was not ruptured, so she saved my tube instead of taking it out. I do not know how well it will function in the future, so I went to have that HSG test done, and it showed both tubes open so far. We are trying again, hopefully something good comes now. I also had a miscarriage last year in October, so I really would like something good to happen next.

Good Luck to you!

Thanks Bobita - id given up on anyone responding so id stopped checking and I'm sorry that you had to go through this (plus an mc too).

Good luck to you too.

PS did someone recommend an HSG after your ectopic?

Thanks
