Very early braxton hicks? Normal?

Hi there.

I am 18+5 with number 4 and I swear I have been having braxton hicks. Its been a while since I have been pregnant (youngest almost 10, eldest 15) so I am a little rusty on the whole pregnancy thing.

My tummy goes really tight and hard and quite sore. This can last a minute or 2 and usually follows activity such as bending/stretching or walking further than normal. It does eventually settle.

Do these sound like braxton hicks and is it normal to be having them so early??

Thank you muchly Grin

I got them then and then they stopped and I never got them after 25 weeks!

I had BH from 17 weeks with DS. Some bloody ignorant midwife told me 'it sounded like a late miscarriage' (it wasn't) and scared the shit out of me, had to come on here to find out it was all normal. Apparently you can get them all the way through but most women don't feel them til later. Always get checked out if you're worried though. (and all the other midwives I saw were fab, luckily :) )

Well it's normal for me! I felt them very early with DS as well.

Thanks all.

Not so much worried Destiny but just wondering that if they are sore this early then what might it be like later on lol. I remember the last 3 weeks of pregnancy with#3 was very uncomfortable.
Oh and what a bitch unhelpful midwife you had then!!

I do feel better now though Smile

Yes definitely bh at 18 wks. I could feel them that early this time. Dc4 as well, I think they've got worse with each pregnancy.

I'm just about 30 weeks now and boy oh boy are they strong! If I'd had them like this with my first baby I'd have been convinced I was in labour!

Oh flag that is what is worrying me. I remember spending the last few weeks with #3 on all 4's or wallowing in the bath as they were so uncomfortable. I also had a number of occasions where I thought I was going in to early labour for them to just go away again over night.

I shall be more prepared then.....and practice my breathing through them early lol
