23 weeks and no movement...

... should I be worried?

I had my 20 weeks scan and all was well.
This is my first DC so Im not entirely sure what to expect and when etc., and although I think I have felt slight movement (flutters) this was a couple of weeks ago and recently I dont seem to have felt anything.

My DH has told me not to worry and that he's sure I'll start to feel something soon (I've heard some people dont feel anything until around 25 weeks), plus, I've been really busy lately in and out of work and he says it could just be that I havent noticed it as I've had other things going on etc.

I guess Im just after some reassurance please - Im sure everything is absolutely fine and am not overly worried but just wanted to hear from others who are / have been in the same position.

Thank you!! (from a paranoid first-time-mum-to-be!!)

It's quite normal to not feel anything until later in the pregnancy with your first child.

However, if you are ever worried, then phone your midwife or maternity unit. They see lots of mums with reduced or absent movement, and I was told when I went in, that they would rather see a 1,000 women who were worrying unecessarily, than miss the one baby who was in need of help.

Thanks for all your replies - I am not too worried though will monitor it and see how is goes. My next appointment with the MW is 28th May so I could wait until then and ask her, though obviously if Im still worried I might ring her before then.

Looking at my dates again I am actually 22+2 weeks (according to the sonographer) though going off my actual dates (of last period etc.) I think I'm 21+4 weeks so I think it is still quite early to be feeling strong, regular movements.

Am sure all is fine - I still have the other pregnancy symptoms such as being ravenous all the time and feeling knackered!! Smile
