Pink tinged CM, 4 and a bit weeks, going mental

hello, hoping someone can offer a bit of reassurance. Am four and a bit weeks, had several positive tests (including one tonight) but just went to loo and on wiping noticed a bit of CM that was very slightly tinged pink. Had a bit of, ahem, a gentle root about and got more CM....only light but a definite hint of pink. Have been having cramps on and off for several days but thought that was ok and normal? Some are quite intense but only last a second or two.

I know the pink CM can be ok but this is first ever pg and have been trying for 18months and just terrified of something going wrong. Am now going a bit mental. Any thoughts?

Hi, didn't want to read and run. I'm sure it's ok, if it turns red I would call a dr?

Good luck x

I agree with chips

I had that with my last (and first pg at the same time as you) and it turned out to be a miscarriage. Mine was brown to begin with then turned pink then red and then it was like the flood gates had opened...Sad

If it stays pink and doesn't get any heavier, then it's probably just implantation bleeding (where the embryo is burrowing in to the uterus lining) but if it gets heavier, go to the doctor. Unfortunately there is nothing they can do if it's a miscarriage but I felt a little better having seen my doctor and not delaying the 'is it or isn't it?' scenario.

Hope that's not too negative and that everything works out OK... Just think sticky thoughts and try your best not to dwell on it too much. Xx

Hi there, thanks for your comments. I didn't see any more last night or all day today but got home to same thing tonight. Really it's hardly there, definitely not even so much as spotting, just tinged CM and very little. Boobs definite still sore and had quite strong waves of nausea this morning and again tonight till I'd eaten. Does that sound like might be ok? If the worst was happening how long would it take for the flow to build up?

Sorry lots of questions...and I know I should try to relax...just we've been trying so long I'm super, super scared about it all anyway, even without this.

Thanks xx

It's really hard to stay calm and not worry isn't it Sad? I've had this in 4 separate pregnancies at around this stage. In 3 of them it was implantation bleeding and those pregnancies led to 2 beautiful DDs and my current 27 week bump which is wriggling away right now Grin. Sadly the first time it happened, within hours it was more and then bleeding and then a miscarriage (I think I was about 5.5 weeks that time). I have also had one other child (before any of these other pregnancies) -no spotting, and my first pregnancy ever ended in early m/c which began as lots of alarming bright red blood with clots.

If it continues for more than a couple of days like this, then it would be a good idea to get it checked out, as they may want to refer you to rule out the possibilitty of ectopic. If it gets heavier also get checked. A tiny bit of pale spotting could easily just be implantation.

I hope all's well and do let us know.

Yes I agree, it could just be implantation as I reckon it would've got heavier by now with cramps. Let's hope it's a sticky one x

Any news highlove?

I've been having similar brownish/pink spotting on and off since Sunday. Had hcg levels checked yesterday and they'll be repeated tomorrow to compare. Chips your post is reassuring as I'm holding onto the fact that my spotting hasn't increased to full bleeding despite the fact it's been happening for several days.

Hi Pink, I think we were on a TTC forum together? congrats on your pg - how far along are you?

So far - touch wood, fingers crossed, etc - nothing further today. I spoke to my clinic (fertility clinic) this morning and they were really reassuring - they said it is probably just hormones doing their stuff and no long as it wasn't fresh red blood with pain it was most likely nothing at all to worry about. Needless to say I'm still crapping myself but keeping everything crossed.

When do you expect to hear your HCG results? I will keep it all crossed for you. It's so hard not to panic isn't it?

God and I somehow thought getting pg would be the end of all the anxiety after trying for so long. WRONG!

I thought I recognised your name! I'm only 5 weeks. My hcg results were 3500 which they said is about what they'd expect, but it all depends on the second reading - numbers should be doubling, if not pregnancy could be failing Sad. I've been having some red, but not much, and it's been there since Sunday and not got any heavier as yet. It's such a terrifying time isn't it? I should know more tomorrow when I get results of the 2nd blood test.

Sounds like you're ok now, if your spotting has stopped and clinic thinks it's fine.
