Did your baby survive? Have any problems during pregnancy or after birth?

Have you got to have surgery? I had emergency surgery with general anaesthetic a few weeks ago, so far baby is just fine. I was 13 weeks at the time.

Yes I had one at 12 weeks and then again about 20. The midwife came down to listen to baby straight afterwards and then about 4 hours later. Also I was given a less deep anaesthetic if that makes sense!

Yes, I had an appendectomy when 31 wks pg with DD2 (obviously an emergency!). I was cared for on a maternity ward before and after surgery, and monitored for an hour or so every morning and afternoon for a few days to make sure I wasn't going into labour, and that DD was OK.

She was born at 40+1, spontaneous onset of labour, forceps delivery. She weighed 8lb 14 oz, and was perfectly healthy at birth and subsequently, despite the GA, morphine and IV antibiotics I had received. The only 'problem' (which isn't really..) is that I have a corker of a scar as they couldn't do keyhole surgery and also didn't know where my appendix was so had to make a big incision half way up my abdomen to give them a chance to find the damn thing! It's faded nicely now though.
