So I'm pretty sure this is normal and just another lovely part of being pregnant, but I can't find any info on google about this unlike my leaky boobs, sore bump, constant sickness.. I'm clearly a google mad loony.

My right nipple has gone all weird! The nipple part seems fine, but the areola has kind of gone quite puffy but only on one half Hmm.

So if I look at my boob on the right side my areola is normal with an erect nipple but the left half the puffyness of the areola has come up to meet my nipple so on that side the nipple isn't erect.

Is this making any sense? I'm worried my deformity it will affect breastfeeding.

Any ideas folks?

Don't know if this is relevant, but you can get bumps on your areola - like goose bumps. They basically lubricate your nipple.

I'd get a doctor to look at that. Likely it's pregnancy related but it should be checked.

@applecrumble, yeh I've had them for a few weeks, already gogoled it Wink

@Northernlurker, boo! I was hoping no-one would say that! Should I ask GP or Midwife? Also what if it's not doing it at the appointment time, would taking a pic be weird? I'm 28 and have has 2 needle aspirations due to breast cancer in the immediate family, but everything was fine. Hopefully this is just baby related.

Take a picture, see your GP and explain about the family history. The overwhelming liklihood is that it's nothing to be concerned about but you must take care of yourself and get this checked. With a family history, even if GP is quite relaxed about it, I would be asking for a breast clinic referral. You cannot muck around with this.

Oh I think I know what you mean, I have had similar, scared me at first! Is it sort of like a puffy cone shape rather than a normal nipple?
