Have any of you been told by a healthcare professional that it's okay to use 4head. The FAQ on the website doesnt say that it's definitely safe or harmful either and nhs direct are only taking urgent calls. I've had this headache for the past two days and just want it gone. I've been drinking lots of water and I'm 12 weeks. Paracetamol didn't touch the sides when I wasn't pregnant so I'm not going to bother trying now.
Thanks in advance.

Hey not sure about 4head but i have been getting loads of headaches and although paracetmol never works on me when not pregnant i sometimes find that if i take half or one pill now it does relieve me a bit. I don't know if it's because pregnancy headaches are different from normal headaches???

Also, a friend who's a gp and also has lots of headaches when pregnant gave me some advice. She told me to eat some sugar and have a glass of milk and although it sounds weird it does work if the headache hasn't developed too far.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Nancy!! Sugar and milk?? That's an odd one. I'm lactose intolerant or I would have definitely tried it. Thanks for the advice.

My MW told me that 4Head is safe to use in pregnancy as it isn't absorbed into the body, apparently. I haven't used any yet, so would be interested if any other posters have also been told it's safe. Am currently laid on sofa with hand on head waiting for headache to go away on it's own!

I made my husband check with the pharmacist when I was early on in pregnancy, I was about 11 weeks at the time and I had a horrendous cold with a headache that I just couldn't shift. They said it was fine to use it, although if I had seen the FAQs on the 4head website I might have changed my mind, but really all they are saying is that they can't do clinical trials on pregnant women as that would be unethical so they can't say for definite it is safe but that they haven't had any reports of problems. I am 40+2 now and have used it through pregnancy, I have found it did help my headaches

yeah i know milk and sugar sounds odd but it does work.

This GP friend also said it's really important to make sure you eat something (even if headache is making you feel sick) because often it is caused by a drop in blood sugar levels.
