37 weeks: the guilt of having a day to myself and just wanting to spend it in bed...

I have a pile of marking, a messy kitchen, a load of washing in the machine and DH has taken DS out for the day.

I just want to lie on the bed, doze and eat.

Would that be morally wrong?

No, you need to do it, if you feel tired you need to rest, your body is working incredibly hard to support you and your baby

Coops79 · 07/05/2012 11:56

I think once you get into the realms of 37 weeks onwards, you are morally obliged to do whatever the hell you like. :)

scarletforya · 07/05/2012 11:59

It would be morally wrong to get up!! Take your golden opportunity and doze your brains out!

It all depends on wether it'll affect your ability to sleep tonight?

At 37 weeks, I'd potter for the morning and then indulge in a lunchtime bath and afternoon nap. But thats because if I stayed in bed all day I'd be awake all night Hmm.

CommanderShepard · 07/05/2012 12:05

No moving from that bed unless you want to go to the fridge!

openerofjars · 07/05/2012 12:40

Awake all night is why I feel like poo today, it has to be said.

Okay, I've washed up, done laundry, made myself some food and feel a bit better.

I'm going back to bed to do marking in comfort with the option of either having a nap or looking busy when DH and DS get home.

Guess how much marking I'm actually going to do? Wink

If anyone queries my indolence, I shall have massive Braxton Hicks at them.

Sounds like a bloody good plan to me....

I'm 37 wks and have been surrounded by dirt/dust/chocolate bar wrappers all weekend. I did try and make a start yesterday, but ended up getting my head down for 2 hours Shock when everyone went out. I shall make a nice dinner tonight though...I just dont have the energy or the inclination so I think you should listen to your body. I am extremely bored though....

openerofjars · 07/05/2012 12:58

Shit, isn't it? I have three more days at work, and then I can indulge in some proper slobbing about/doing irrational and dangerous cleaning and heavy lifting.

I kind of have to crochet 2/3 of a blanket for this baby as well, because I made one for DS...

I'm not getting out of bed today. I told dh and and ds has just gone out. I have my lap top and two DVD's and a couple of bowls of snacks. Not going anywhere until they are both watched. I'm 12 weeks.

Florin · 07/05/2012 13:27

I'm 34 weeks. Dh had to pop out to check on something for work this morning so I stayed in bed until midday and had nice long shower. Feel so much better. Achieved most of the baby ironing and now off shopping with dh. You deserve and need to do what you want when you can. There is nothing to feel guilty about.

scarletforya · 07/05/2012 14:42

Brilliant plan bringing the marking to bed! Grin

openerofjars · 07/05/2012 18:40

It didn't work: they came home at 2 with allotment related injuries...
