This is going to be waay tmi but yesterday whilst dtd with dh it was exceptionally uncomfortable - actually painful deep inside. So I thought hmm will have a venture to see if I can actually feel what is perhaps wrong up there!!! (I know, I know)

Anyway I discovered that I am in fact at least 2cm dilated (could get 2 fingers in cervix if I chose to - I didn't!) It is very obvioulsy open.

This is my 3rd pregnancy so I know it is normal to be open a bit - but 2cm? Is that ok?

Also this is the first pregnancy where I have lost an insane amount of thick snotty (not smelly) discharge - gross I know - but normal?

I'm fairly certain that your cervix can be 1-2cm dilated all the way through subsequent pregnancies. Fair play though-I cant seem to ever find my cervix!

I would go and get it checked out. Not trying to scaremonger, but my friend had what was called "an incompetent cervix" where the cervix doesn't hold shut. She unfortunately lost a baby at 22 weeks as it wasn't picked up. In her next pregnancy she had a stitch put in it and it was all fine.

I had the same a few weeks ago! Was very strange ( couldn't seem to keep my flaps closed)-sorry if tmi. But everything's back to normal size now at 25 weeks.
