SPD or incompetent cervix?!

I have SPD, but recently I've also been getting a lot of pain/ heaviness right across the underneath of my bump. I was walking to the cinema yesterday and was literally having to 'carry' my bump in my hands by the time I arrived - I was actually lifting it and holding it up to relieve the pain a bit.

Is this just another SPD symptom/ the SPD getting worse, or could it be a sign of an incompetent cervix?! I'm a bit worried!

I'm 27 weeks.

Sounds like SPD to me, are you wearing a support belt? They would support your bump.

However, if you are concerned, I would contact midwife/doctor/healthcare and get it checked out.

xx

Thanks Duckety, I'm not wearing a belt. I've been to the physio but the just gave me crutches, no belt. Is it something you can request, or do you buy privately... ? x

babbashouse, you can get quite a good one from Mothercar for abour £35 www.mothercare.com/Nexcare-Maternity-Support-Size-8-18/873959,default,pd.html. I have chronic SPD & am now on crutches at week 30, but have been suffering since week 22. The belt really helped until I did a silly move in antenatal yoga last week :(
