anyone measure 2wks less at scan??

i went for a scan friday (7+6) and was told 'it' was only measuring 6wks and there was only a sac and yolk sac. waiting for another scan this friday to see if theres a heartbeat.

anyone else had this?

my lmp was 17/12/05. makes my edd 23/09/06. i never had this with the last 2. so now getting worried. going back on friday for anoter scan. they done bloods and hormones looked good though. maybe its a slow starter?!

I really hope so hun. Hopefully someone will post with some experience of this. I'm so hoping on Friday you'll get to see the little heart beating away. You have to keep me posted and let me know (I'll be worrying all week about you lol). x

thanks HK, im hoping things will be ok as it has grown since the scan 2wks ago. maybe jsut a slow starter who will catch up!!! will keep you posted. we go away on friday to centre parcs for the weekend, (heopfully with good news) so ill post when i get back.

dont think it helps that i have some sort of bug. been sick and dizzy fro past cpl of days. think ill leave work in a while and go home.

Everyone's had that crappy bug hun. It's a nasty one too. i thought I got off lightly with it but over a week on and I've still got the awful headaches, bunged up nose etc.
Hope you feel better soon. Take it easy and try to get some rest x

my friend's jsut had this, she went to her scan thinking she was 13 weeks ish and turned out to be just under 9, when she went back 3 weeks later the bean had grown to 12+3 so I guess her bean needed the spurt so to speak. same thing happened with another friend who intrestingly enough had a girl.

JARM had her scan's putting her 2 weeks after her dates that was a girl.

I had the same thing... mine was 4 weeks out though (giving me a positive test 1 day after conception according to the scan) - she never caught up with size, and was very very well cooked when she finally did pop out!

CarlyP..I had exact same thing happen to me, i had 2 scans one at 5 wk and one at 6 wk (that is what they measured me at) i thought i was further along than that, then when i had my 12 wk scan they put me back to original date.

I had this with my first scan - I was 7.5 weeks according to LMP, only 5.75 weeks on the scan. Later on at 15 week scan they added 5 days back on! You may have ovulated late in the cycle; if you based your dates on your LMP, it's not going to be as reliable if you had long cycles, say 5 weeks or more.

mine was 6 days out with the first scan (6 weeks). I'm now 29 weeks. Hope it's good news.

they put me back at a 6 week scan measuring to a 5 - 5 and a 1/2 week baby. couldn't find heartbeat. went yesterday and i'm back to be just over 8 weeks and had a good heartbeat. i was 100% sure on my dates, lmp was 18/12/05 so i'm due 24/09/06 again.

thanks eveyone. uve out my mind at rest. ill let you all know how it goes. i have 2 boys who always measured big for dates (ds2 was born at 36wks and just under 8lb!)

maybe its a girl, dh would be pleased!

Sure the boys will get you through and wish you best of luck for next time - and just a word of encouragement if you measure two weeks short next time try not to worry. I measured 1-2 weeks smaller throughout my pregnancy and did not catch up to normal measurements till 36 weeks and had healthy girl. Take care.
