Anyone had a precipitous labour?

I had a fast first labour and I'd be keen to hear if anyone else had this? I'm expecting again, and I'd love to hear if anyone had a fast first labour and a fast second one.

Ds was 3.5 hours!
Dd was 1 hour 40 mins!

I'm on DC3 now and wondering if I'll make the hospital lol x

I had 5hr labour with ds and like you am thinking this one will be quicker! That's why I am having a home birth! No chance of not making it to hospital that way! My midwife even suggested it before I told her that's what I wanted. Even tho I am only 10 mins from hospital!

dd1 45 minutes !!
Ds1 4hrs
Ds2 3 hours 45 mins - with a second stage of just 9 minutes
Ds3 due next week, being induced as i was with other 2 boys, hoping for a 3 hour labour :)

CaptainHetty · 04/05/2012 10:01

Yep, first was 3 hours, second was 2.15 and third was just over one and a half hours.

Actually scared to death of giving birth to the one due in October, been told to go to MLU at first contraction but did last time and was 8 cm by the time I got there, if this one's much quicker I'll be giving birth in the car :o

dd1 2 hours
dd2 20 hours Shock. dd2 was back-to-back and once she turned it was 20 mins

LowRegNumber · 04/05/2012 10:23

4.5 hrs
2.5 hrs
1hr
22 mins

The last one was a HB. Midwife arrived just after delivery Grin I decided HB was safer than the side of the road and the mw was told not to stop for gas and air. She was about 90 seconds late and all was fine. Don't think exh was expecting it though!

ShellyBobbs · 04/05/2012 11:35

DD1 6 hrs
DS1 4 hrs
DD2 55mins

I've been advised by the midwife to go for a homebirth this time otherwise to go straight in at the very first twinge. I'm due in November and think I'll probably have it at home, it'll be a lot easier with the childminding thing, we wouldn't have time to drop them off Grin

hiya yep all my have been fast the last 3 defo precipitous!

really pooing my self this time :S surley it carnt get any faster than that ?? can it ??

defo going to hospitial with so many births im classed as high risk .

Iheartpasties · 04/05/2012 12:17

Thanks ladies, so interesting to hear about your stories. I was 1.5 hours with my first and I did not make it to the hospital, even though I lived 600 yards away from the hospital! I just had never in a million years expected it to be so fast.

I can't wait to discuss it with my midwife in a couple of weeks. I'm only 12 weeks so far.

Dc1 3.5 hours, dc2 2.5 hours from first contraction to holding baby. Dc1 was scary as hell, just got to hospital in time to push! Dc2 was a lovely chilled homebirth, I would definitely recommend it Grin

Tobydogrocks · 04/05/2012 22:42

DS established labour 3 hours
DD established labour 35 minutes (15 minutes of that was the third stage placenta)
A 3rd baby is not looking likely but if it was it would have to be a homebirth!

cutegorilla · 04/05/2012 23:04

Dc1 20+ hours nightmare ending in emergency Cs.

Dc2 2.5 hours from first twinge, nearly didn't make it to hospital in time.

Dc3 headed in at first little dribble of waters. Contractions started in the car. From dribble to delivery was 4 hours. Got to hospital in perfect time.
