another thing to worry about for me... i am sure i have read other threads on this and everyone says it's normally fine, and that's what I want to hear, so if you have any similar stories could you share them?!! measuring 28 at 30 weeks and today 34 weeks (less 4 days) measuring 30 weeks. have been told will be referred for growth scan in next few weeks. I did go to hosi 2 weeks ago as my discharge was watery and they sent me for a scan, fluid was fine - wouldn't they have noticed if baby was small? off to do hypno therapy cd to try and calm myself down...oh panic panic panic!

You probably have nothing to worry about at all. I have measured small since they started measuring was 27cm at 30 weeks and now I'm 34cm at 39 weeks. Had a growth scan a couple of weeks ago and said that the baby is actually measuring about a week behind but well within normal range. It can depend on who is measuring and how the baby is lying so please try not to worry.

Im not usually worried if it's a few cms either side, and there are no other risk factors.

At 4cm smaller I'd refer for growth scan but wouldn't be majorly worried. Some women just carry small / bigger and I would factor in previous babies weights, previous measurements etc.

Measuring can be a good tool but it's very subjective.

Don't worry. With all 3 of mine I had tiny bumps like a football up my top. Constantly scanned with each baby.

I am thin myself though and didn't put much other weight on, so my bump was just baby though IYSWIM.

It'll be fine, I'm sure. Good luck :)

Me too.. Dd1 was measuring 4 weeks behind and was 5lb12oz I'm 38 weeks with DD2 now and measuring 6 weeks behind but the growth scan says she's on the small side of normal, as long as they are scanning you and keeping an eye on you. Everything should be fine. Who wants a massive baby anyway !! Smile

My first was measuring small at the 20 week scan so they rescanned me every couple of weeks to check if she was developing properly. Very anxious times! She kept measuring small. When she was born she was 9lb3oz and 56cm. Second pregnancy they kept saying was measuring v large was actually 'only' 9lb1oz and 54cm. Now due with 3rd. Midwife says large again. We shall see. As far as I can tell its a pretty in-exact science. Good luck x
