Hi everyone I'm new here and would like to talk to other pregnant women who know what I'm going through as I don't know any!

prettyblueeyes · 03/05/2012 16:43

I'm due on June 17th. There is an ante- natal forum, but it has hundreds of posts and it is a bit overwhelming.
How are you feeling?

prettyblueeyes · 03/05/2012 17:01

I can't keep up with everyone's posts on them big ones! I'm feeling okay, the worst things are back ache, restless legs and acid reflux but apart from that my pregnancy isn't so bad :) how's your pregnancy been? x

I'm due the 4th July and on the July thread in Ante-Natal. Come and join us!

readyforno2 · 03/05/2012 19:15

This is my 2nd and has not been as easy as first time round... Spd, really horrendous heartburn, no sleep, and I feel as though I've been in maternity clothes since the minute I found out, I am about the size of a house. On the plus side not long to go and ds is 5 on Saturday!!

readyforno2 · 03/05/2012 19:21

Just Reread my last post and sound like such a moan.. Apologies. Feeling a bit sorry for myself as dp works offshore and left on Tuesday for four weeks. Also doc thinks may go early (ds born at 37weeks) so dp might not be home in time

prettyblueeyes · 03/05/2012 19:28

I'm not that big I don't think, although I'm measuring perfectly fine, I must just look small. I can't sleep either due to acid reflux or restless legs that I can't seem to get rid of!
I don't mind you having a moan, it's what I feel like doing every minute of every day haha, midwife appointment on Sunday so we will see how little one is doing.
I hope dp gets home in time for your baby being born! I'd be devestated if I didn't have mine around for the big day x

Hello all! I'm due on July 10th. Starting to feel very close...

My list of things to get and things to do seems to be getting longer not shorter!

How long is everyone going to work before their due date?

scarletforya · 03/05/2012 20:46

Hello Smile I'm due the 1st July. I have plenty of heartburn and a sore pelvis. The sore pelvis is annoying me as I want to do lots of tidying and cleaning and can't seem to stand for long at all I'm walking with all the grace and elegance of Uncle Albert from Only fools and horses! Grin

readyforno2 · 03/05/2012 20:58

I'm measuring bigger than I should be, been for a growth scan and baby around a week ahead but as its all done on averages they're not too concerned. I was big with ds and ended up being told I wasn't to drive so I have to say I'm more worried about that than anything else.
I'm trying to focus on dp not being here to be honest, don't want it to come to me going in to labour and then freaking out cause he's not home (although he was pretty useless last time anyway) Grin
How many weeks are you? Is this your first? good luck on Sunday x

weeze444 · 03/05/2012 23:00

Hi, Im due 7th July and also measuring big! Had a scan and they not concerned fro now and i hope it all works out so i can (hopefully) go into labour naturally (i was induced with my first). Im not sleeping due to cramp, restless legs and terrible hip pain...........my first pregnany was a breeze! T answer your question cherrypieplum I am working full time with a 3 year old until 4 weeks before! Can wait to finish!
Good luck everyone x

prettyblueeyes · 04/05/2012 08:17

Haha I can imagine mine not being of any use either, he's a massive wimp so he will probably just freak out and stand in a corner! I'm 31+4 so also starting to get a bit of a waddle, it's not flattering in the slightest, but then again, what part of pregnancy is?! This is my first yes, I'm only 21 so I'm very scared! Thanks, I've no doubt everything will be fine on Sunday x

readyforno2 · 04/05/2012 10:10

I was 21 when I had ds so know exactly how you feel right now, you are totally right, pregnancy is not the flattering in the slightest although I'm usually pretty flat chested so quite like having a cleavage (that isn't fake) I'm sure your dp/h?? Will be fine, it's the most amazing thing looking up at them holding that tiny wee bundle with tears streaming down their face. Do you have everything sorted? x

efffy · 04/05/2012 10:41

You must be due around the same time as me - July 1st eek!! Expecting Dd2!
I am also in my twenties so I know how you feel!

Hate going round to shops at the mo and the seeing lovely summery clothes, knowing I'll be wearing a tent!

Hurry up the next 8 and a bit weeks!!

prettyblueeyes · 04/05/2012 10:58

That's the bit I can't wait for, I've never seen my dp cry so that will be a rare moment! He says he won't but I know that he will cry. Nearly everything is sorted, just need essentials now such as nappies, extra vests etc. We got the bedding and nursery set at the weekend, it makes the room look so much sweeter! The thing about having a bigger cleavage though.. none of my bras fit! x

efffy I'm due July 3rd! Dp wants baby to be born July 4th though, American Independance Day for some reason haha. Yeah I know how you feel, I went shopping with my younger sister recently and see lots of clothes I would love to buy but I know they won't fit! Hate having to look through my wardrobe and decide what fits me rather than what I feel like wearing x

OP posts:
readyforno2 · 04/05/2012 22:31

I've somehow have a crazy amount of nappies, I've just been buying them if I've seen them on offer and now have a cupboard full. Although I'm sure I'll get through them.
I think it's pretty much a guarantee he'll cry, dp is a real manly man (so he thinks) and blubbered away like a baby.
If you have a Costco near you check out their nappies as they often have brilliant deals. I've still to get bedding for the cot and only just ordered a mattress for the Moses basket.

cherrypieplum · 05/05/2012 19:34

Weeze, I'm going to try and go right up :(

Getting bigger and knackered now!

joosiewoosie · 06/05/2012 08:42

Hi folks....can i join in? I'm due on 9th July with my first.

Exciting and scary are the words capturing my feelings right now (and I'm approaching 40, so I think these feelings are natural whatever your age!)

We are doing quite well with baby stuff shopping, but not that well with baby's room at the mo. Am sure it won't take long though.

I know what you all mean about restless legs and disrupted sleep...so annoying. Hey Ho, not long now really. Nice to chat with people at a v similar stage!

cherrypieplum · 06/05/2012 15:26

Hi Joosiewoosie. I'm the opposite. Just got to finish a teenie bit of the baby's room but still have to get a lot of stuff like nappies, cot bed mattress and monitor.

I'm starting to get uncomfortable too. After a walk around town yesterday felt like I'd run a marathon!

meditrina · 06/05/2012 15:33

Chat threads about pregnancies belong in Ante-natal Clubs where there are already chat threads for those with similar due dates.

OP: please would you consider asking MNHQ to move this thread there? I know this is a bit "thread police" but ante-natal clubs exists specifically for threads like this. The Pregnancy forum would become overwhelmed with chat if it didn't, which would lead to people hiding it and that could detriment to those who need advice about issues in their pregnancies.

readyforno2 · 06/05/2012 17:19

Good point, I also still need to get a monitor..
As for the mattress, we got a brilliant cot bed one from eBay, was only £40 rrp £150. It's really thick and looks as though if will last as long as the cot bed itself..
Someone was saying they don't think they have a lot of baby stuff bug please bear in mind just how generous people are when babies are involved. We ended up with a crazy amount of stuff (and nappies) for ds, I think all I bought in the first few months was a few vests and socks.

prettyblueeyes · 08/05/2012 12:49

Finished baby's room this weekend! It looks so cute, it's the rosie and rex collection from mamas and papas, I got back from swimming and dp had it finished for me as a surprise, it was so sweet of him!
I'm having a baby shower early June so I'm sure I will get loads of bits for baby then, so I'm holding out on buying anything till after that :)
