Plug/show question

Hi everyone. 40 weeks pregnant tomorrow!
My last midwife appt was at 38+6 weeks when she told me the baby was not engaged at all. She said this was unusual for a first time mum. Because of what she said I am kind of expecting to go overdue :(
Well today when I went to the toilet I had a very big&thick gloop of yellow snot-like discharge. However it was not tinged with blood at all, could this be my plug (or part of it?)
I know it can still be ages yet but if it is, maybe it's a step in the right direction? After what she said I worried myself sick nothing is going to happen that my body is doing something wrong and I will end up induced very late or with a section..

At 38+wks my DD's was still 4/5 palpable (so 1/5 engaged) but I went in to labour at 39+2.

I would say a lot can change in over a week & that sounds like the mucus plug/show to me!!

Good luck & fx you're not going to be long now.

I think i felt a bit down as she was 3/5 palpable at my 36 week appointment then..popped back out!
Thank you for the reassurance!

sounds like a show, the blood stained part might not happen til you are in established labour. having said that, yu can lose your show over a few days. you are not really overdue until 42 + 1. your EDD is just that, an estimate ! have faith in your body and enjoy the last few days of being able to put you feet up x

it\s good that baby has been partly engaged, as at least you know baby will fit in the pelvis, so it's all good

The other way round my baby was 3/5 engaged from 37 weeks 5 weeks and 3 days later she appeared. So don't worry about that.

But that sounds like plug. And although could be a few weeks (ot 2mrw! Who knows?!) deffo a step in the right direction

very true, i know it could be ages but i had this stupid idea in my head that i was just going to be pregnant forever and nothing's going to happen...
so i feel a bit more positive now and bouncing on the gym ball like an idiot :o
