worried about ectopic - possible 4mm gest sac and hcg of 2780 - any experiences?

Hello everyone
I last had period on 15 March, which should make me about six-seven weeks pregnant. However, I ovulated a week later than normal, and could have taken a few days for implantation etc, so could be as little as 5 weeks pg. Had four positive tests, but two clearblue digital ones said 2-3 weeks, about 4 days apart. My boobs were really tingly, but this has stopped now, as has utter exhaustion.

Went to hospital as I was having a small niggling pain on right hand ovary side. They did TV scan and found possible 4mm gestational sac and very possibly a yolk sac. Hcg levels 2780. Am being re-blood tested tomorrow and possibly another scan depending on results.

I am also though suffering with quite bad tummy pains - think a lot of it is gas and possibly a urinary infection - I am going to gp today to see if this is the case.

I am so worried about an ectopic - they did scan my ovaries and tubes and could see nothing that suggested one - there was a small burst luteal cyst on my right ovary, that they said is probably causing the pain.

I am just not sure whether these crampy pains are a result of my worrying and trapped gas, or whether they are something more to worry about - they are quite high and sort of remind me of Braxton Hicks from my first pg.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation and what was your outcome?

If you did have an ectopic, did you suffer any pain and was it quite bad?

Sorry to ask, but MNs have always been really supportive in the past! I know I have to wait until tomorrow for a better idea, but waiting is so hard!

Thank you

I had two ectopics without pain and a normal pregnancy with. I also get ovarian pain before my period.

If the hospital says there is a gestational sac in the uterus, odds are that there is not also an ectopic - that is very rare. Definitely get them to check again if pain continues (although the corpus luteum can cause one sided pain) but the chances are there is a less worrying explanation.

I second RancerDoo - if there is a visable sac there then it would be unlikely to be an ectopic. I had one last summer with no symptoms at all until 7 weeks and a sudden ruptured tube. Until this point I had zero symptoms.
It sounds to me like many of the symptoms you are feeling could be easily explained away with other things. I know its all to easy to fear the worst but try to look at the many positives and the fact the the sac is present.

Thank you - they were reluctant to say it was definitely a gestational sac - the lady doing the scan said she thought it was one, but the second one said it 'could be anything'. I am glad I phoned the hospital up and at least it is being checked and I am on the radar as it were! Fingers crossed it is just an earlier pregnancy than I originally thought.

I am glad you are both ok now - having babies is not as easy as it is sometimes made out to be, is it?!

As you say, you are on their radar now and they can monitor you closely to double check. If you feel any worse, any symptoms change or you just need reassurance, do contact them. Thats what they are there for and your piece of mind and health is the priority. Never worry about wasting their time.
The whole baby lark isnt as straightforward as I thought when I was younger! Please to say that Im expecting my little boy in July but given my earlier experience last summer, I dont think I have totally relaxed this entire pregnancy. The wrinkle/grey hair count has gone up dramatically!
Let us know how things go. x
