just found out we are expecting our second baby! really excited, going to tell close family this week. Thinking about getting a Big Brother t shirt for our first and seeing how long it takes people to figure it out! How did everyone else tell people?

Congratulations!

I put up a picture on Facebook of myself wearing a "baby on board" TFL badge. We'd told family weeks ago but my FB is literally just close friends and family overseas. Hahaha, it took some of them a little while to get it....posts like "Is that...does that....SQUEAL!!!!"

Ha!

Haha Betty I changed my profile pic to a baby on board car thingy. I had a very fun weekend as people slowly started to realise what it meant.

This one (#4) was very unexpected (not to us as we planned it, but to others) and their reactions were fab.

We had told family a couple of weeks before this though. As we live a long way from them all I told them over the phone.

Congrats Annie. I hope you have fun with your announcement Smile

I told all my family in person (I think FB is a bit impersonal?). With my older sister (who has been looking forward to a niece or nephew for yeeeeears) I just handed over my scan photo and her little face crumpled into tears, she was still sobbing (with happiness, I hasten to add!) when I left 3 hours later....... :o :o

I told my family and close friends in person, knowing they'd all be happy for me, but also did it with my fiance there too!
As for the rest of the world, I put up a picture of my positive pregnancy text on the first of April just for a laugh!

I feel really bad because I've not really told anyone. Didn't want to make an announcement on facebook and couldn't be bothered with a big group email.

So I've really only told family and friends that I've spoken to since I found out. But then I guess those are probably the important people to be told anyway?

we never announced. We posted a picture of ds on facebook and got surprised comments as most of them didn't even know I was pg

First time around we only told close family and a few friends, I'm not really into facebook. Just wanted to have a bit of fun doing it this time round as last time I was so worried things were gonna go wrong I didn't really want to tell anyone! I like the idea of the Baby on Board sign for facebook (after scans and whatnot!)

I told my DH by throwing up on his work shoes at 7am on our way to work ...

Told my parents after a proper test...

Didn't tell anyone else until scan - took scan pic to close family and friends - seeing their faces as they clicked was amazing!

Put up a scan photo on Facebook for my other general friends!

I love the idea of the big brother or baby on board things! So sweet!

annie11 · 01/05/2012 15:28

lol@ you throwing up on his shoes! Although I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time, definitely an effective method of telling someone!
