I'm 28weeks and got weighed today. I've puton1.5 stone......I was quite shocked as I haven't been too bad and my cravings have been citrus fruit.....is this a normal amount?

sounds like a little more than recommended but were you underweight before? it all depends where you were before pg tbh.

this calculator will tell you if your gain is within normal range: www.thebabycorner.com/tools/pregnancy/calculators/weightcalculator.php

2-3 stone each time.
I was usually back within pre-preg clothes within a few weeks. Some small babies, too. It mystifies me how anybody who starts pregnancy a healthy weight manages to put on any less than 2 stone.

I started off 9 1/2 stone, was almost 16 by the end. Seems like it was mostly water as i lost most of it within a few weeks of giving birth. I say don't worry, eat what you like, you will lose once the baby is on the go! :)

GiantPuffball · 30/04/2012 23:24

I lost 2 stone. Wasn't healthy though.

I started at 8stone 4lbs, currently 9stone 6lbs at 35+4. I've had tummy troubles from the start though, and I've kept very active. You'll probably find that a lot of it is water and it'll come straight off afterwards :)

like that link oikopolis was worried about my weight gain, but it says I'm spot on atm :o phew!

MrsHoarder · 01/05/2012 10:44

I've gained over 3 stone (pretty much at term now). But I have lots of waters (apparently) so am hoping a large proportion of that will be lost in the delivery room.

EdlessAllenPoe · 01/05/2012 10:49

i don't know - only one MW has ever weighed past booking in (and then my weight was 6kg up at 28 wks, don't know what that is in real money)

i have lost the weight afters. three times over...wish i could just do it and not gain but sickness/ tiredness makes it harder.

PickleSarnie · 01/05/2012 11:22

Nothing. But only because I haven't gone near a pair of scales since my booking in appointment so am blissfully unaware and as far as I'm concerned haven't put on anything.

The mirror tells a different story though.

Last time I was back in normal clothes a couple of weeks afterwards but last time I went to the gym throughout and didn't eat much more. This time, I have no chance to go to the gym and permanently have chocolate in my hand so not holding out much hope of retiring my maternity jeans quite so quickly.
