Has anyone experienced an discomfort/pain from previous incision? I coughed the othe day and it was really uncomfortable.

EMCS 2 years ago. Pain mostly gone by 6 months, but still the odd twinge if the cat or toddler walk across it.

EMCS six years ago - still get the very, very occasional uncomfortable twang - enough to know that its the c-section scar, and not anything else - might just be me though...

I have had an emergency cs followed by elective and I have always felt mine if I suddenly get up quickly at an odd angle or coughed, sneezed hard. I am now expecting DC3 and it is rally quite painful with all the stretching, it feels like a ripping sensation internally. I've asked MW and consultant and it is apparently common with thirds. I can understand why they used to have the maximum 3 CS rule in place now.

I've had 2 EMCS, 4 1/2 and 2 years ago (about to have a third one, but ELCS this time), and I do get pain in the scar. Like others have said, maybe I cough or sneeze hard, or it gets bumped, or I twist uncomfortably etc. It is worse at one side, which my GP thinks is where they knotted off the stitches, though the whole scar can be painful. I haven't had it this time, but when pg with DD2, I did have the nasty ripping pain RetroMum describes. I had one day where I actually stayed in bed because it hurt so much (very rare for me to do that btw!). One of my best friends, who has also had 2 CS, says she has similar twinges. I have noticed my belly generally is quite numb all the time though - I don't think I ever got back the feeling in it properly after DD1, and it got even more numb with DD2.

I too am expecting dc3 so t least I know its normal. Thank you.

EMCS 11 years ago and I still get the old sharp pain. I have had 2VBACs since.

Ooh this is a relief to read, 2 elcs and pregnant with dc.3, lots of scar ache!

I had Emergency CS 9 years ago and an elective CS 5 years ago. I still get the odd pain where my scar is. Now pregnant with DC3 so another CS to go.
